Ik know the result: it works!

Finally received the dongle today :blush:. Unfortunately it doesn’t work :pensive_face:
Adding it to homey seems to work, connecting to wifi seems to work but then it tries to connect to my smart meter and after a short time it says it’s not able to retrieve any data from the meter.
If I skip this step, homey says the dongle is not connected.
If I try to make a diagnostic report, it says there is a problem.
Readding the dongle doesn’t solve anything, reset to factory default doesn’t solve anything.
My smart meter is in the list of compatible meters (Landys + Gyr 360)

I even completely turned off the power to maybe restart the smart meter (not sure if anything restarts on the meter)

Not happy with my new toy yet…

Add a USB power unit. Maybe it can be removed when all’s up and running.

Without USB power it has a red LED, so I needed to use one from the start..

If I open the device on homey I just get this message:

And the device disconnects from WiFi…

I am also receiving invalid frames and every two minutes approx. device unavailable.

Tried powered directly on meter and with powered HomeWizard P1 extender and the above always happens. It does show a white led with both.

I will give it a week and otherwise return it.

Just installed mine after relived it today. I live in Flanders, Belgium. This is what I have experienced.

  • Plugging it in my meter (Nothing)
  • Connect USB-C power with external battery (Turning on)
  • Add it to my beta app
  • Connect to wi-fi (app crashes and have to re-plug dongle)
  • Install the app from the store (crashes after looking for wi-fi)
  • Unplug from meter and just give it power.
  • Setup tried again and insert wi-fi. Connected and update firmware.
  • Can’t read meter data. So connect it to the meter and give it some power. (Dongle is working)
  • Disconnect from the battery and the dongle stays on.

Data is also working in my app including gas and water. I also connected my old smart meter but it doesn’t turn on. My idea is that the Homey dongle doesn’t have enough power. Maybe that’s also the reason I need to kickstart my dongle. Connecting to a power source isn’t possible in my situation because my meter is in the basement of the apartment building.

Fault code is 5A7C9141

update 17-4 and it works, an active splitter did the job for me.
maybe the the splitter in de homey dongle is work in progress or it needs some more power. but for now it is running,

Same story here…

Today first time ive got a.message in homey the dongle was offline (red leds), so i can confirm it always needs its usb power. Thats a shame

Oké it’s clear…
Just received my Homewizard active P1 splitter.
Connected the splitter and the Homey Energy Dongle and it works directly.
So for some reason the dongle is not completely compatible with my Landis+Gyr E360 smart meter.
For me it’s working now, but the compatibility-issues must be solved of course !

We are looking into it! Just did some testing with a colleauge and for some reason my Landis+Gyr E360 works without any issues.

My dongle doesn’t work om de Landis+GyrE360. I tried everything on this and other forums without succes.,De dongle installs, but can read de Landis. I spend several hours on it. I hope there is a solution soon.

My Dongle, also connected to a Landis+Gyr E360 gives the following diagnostic code : D5450B44.

Don’t know if it will help with the problem solving?

i have 3 diagnositic codes:

14cc4434, 2c4287f4 and 2790e3b3. I’m hoping its usefull them

Exactly the same issue here. My smart meter is an Iskra MT382.

Exactly the same issue here. Is Athom reading this forum, can we expect an answer soon? If not, the dongle will be returned.

I have a question about the dongle.
I just installed it and its great but why does the country code say DE when I live in NL

It was a true pain setting this thing up, it couldnt connect to the wifi (it said wrong password and then was bricked) when connected to the p1 port and resetting while connected to the p1 port also didnt work. Only way to get it to connect to the wifi and reset if if you plugin the usb. But I couldt find this anywhere in the documentation.

But after all the trouble the device is great! i can see the Ampere per fase this is amazing now i can monitor this and see if i can go down since i currently have 3x35, I can even kill some devices when it get to high so this is probably going to save me around 1000 euro per year :money_mouth_face:
