On Reddit I found some comments from an EVE employee stating that the release of Matter 1.3 for their devices is imminent. So, the full Monty, not 1.2 + custom clusters.
I’ve learned the hard way that when in Home Automation one has to live with lots of patience
Was 1.3 released, did I miss it? I have ensured my Homey is fully up to date and I readded my Meross MSS315 (and ensured they are fully up to date firmware wise) and still get no energy monitoring information within Homey.
Meross themselves doesn’t use the Matter 1.3 energy option (based on past messages on the forum), so they will have to update their firmware to support the official energy things.
Homey most likely will not support the none official energy measurements.
The latest Meross firmware on these sockets do support 1.3 with energy monitoring. I have it working perfectly fine in my HA via just matter whilst I wait on Homey to have it properly implemented.
But HA supports most of the non-standard power measurement clusters, so just the fact that it works in HA doesn’t mean that the device uses the official Matter 1.3 specification.
Yes I understand that, hence why I’ve been on their support first and manually performed a Matter interview with the devices to check what they report. They claim it is the official 1.3 integration and when I manually interview it, it responds correctly with the energy monitoring interfaces.
I was just asking a question on if homey is yet supporting Matter 1.3 energy monitoring, or if it’s just specific impl for brands like Eve. Or if there is something incorrect with my setup causing it to not work. Do I need a beta version of Homey?
Yes, on the link that I posted you’ll see that Matter 1.3 power measurements were introduced in v12.3.0-rc.7. The current experimental firmware version is v12.3.0-rc.10, there’s no stable firmware with those changes yet.
I’ve left it even longer and now kwh has appeared to be getting reported but the other two are still empty. In HA I still get all the information fully.
@ConnorSParks I also have Meross plugs with beta firmware; the only data Homey can read right now is the total consumption registered by the plug. In the energy tab Homey splits the data correctly day by day but we are not able to see “instantaneous” current, voltage and power yet.
