We are expanding support to include a wide range of devices, such as speakers, dishwashers, laundry washers, robotic vacuum cleaners, fans, air purifiers, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, video players, smoke and CO sensors, and a variety of air quality sensors, including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, formaldehyde, PM1, PM2.5, PM10, radon, and TVOC sensors. Additionally, pumps will also be supported.

Alongside these new device classes, we’re introducing support for double-click actions on buttons and addressing several issues, including:

  • Fixed an issue where devices couldn’t pair with certain Wi-Fi networks.
  • Resolved a problem where battery status wasn’t displayed in some cases.
  • Fixed a connectivity issue affecting devices in large Matter networks.

Hey, sorry to be a drag but does this include energy monitoring from the matter spec also?

That’s what my original answer was about; yes, that will be supported!

Hello @Doekse, you mentioned the development is completed. Is there a timeline for the Matter 1.3 release? Thank you in advance

The latest additions to Matter are currently in Alpha testing and are expected to be available in the beta builds soon.

Doekse, Is Matter 1.3 now part of the latest beta, the one with the Energy tab? If so, none of my (EVE) Matter Power Plug devices show power/energy.

Eve hasn’t released their firmware update yet, as they’re still conducting tests, including some with Homey. Once the update is released, you’ll need to re-add the devices to Homey for the new capabilities to become available. I’ll reach out to Eve to see if they can provide a timeline.

It does seem to be part of the HP2023 v12.3.0-rc.7 beta release.
It lists

  • Adds support for power measurement.

Under the matter section.

Thanks for your reply. But what firmware update do you need from EVE? I have 20 plugs in Home Assistant (Matter 1.3) with Energy Measurement for a year now.

Hi Waldo, yes I have read that when installing the update, but since I can’t see any power measurements after the installation of the beta I asked Doekse about it.

Eve currently uses a custom cluster for power management because the Matter standard didn’t initially support this feature. However, they plan to adopt the standard Matter clusters with their upcoming firmware update. They are not yet using the Matter 1.3 specification in Home Assistant at the moment.

OK, fair enough. Thanks for the clarification!

@Doekse No news from EVE? When I browse through the internet it appears that the official EVE Matter 1.3 should be just around the corner? And Matter1.4 specs are there as well, you guys will have a lot on your hands the coming year

@Doekse This might be tangentially related, but thread 1.3 was supposed to introduce credential sharing correct? So that distinct brands Thread Border Routers could join the same network (not talking about matter multi-admin). Have you guys seen this out in the wild yet? I cant find any evidence of it ever actually being used if it was released.

Is it possible it was quietly delayed for the 1.4 release? This article suggests it’s part of 1.4 feature set.

does that mean that the aqara u200 will have 3 ways to unlock, with matter 1.3?
now aqara needs to update their firmware to 1.3 itself

I tested the Eve Energy on HA, which has implemented Matter 1.3, and the power consumption data was displayed correctly. This suggests that the Eve Energy devices are already compatible with Matter 1.3. Now, we just need to wait for Matter 1.3 to be supported on Homey.

Itā€˜s based on Eveā€˜s custom clusters, not Matter 1.3. Eve will support Matter 1.3 with firmware 3.5.x which hopefully will be released soon.
