I did.
contact support?
Ptp, setting different values, nothing really helps.
Supported is contacted, but no response.
Also not clear for me if Athom is working on it or not.
same here.
In the timeline on the loading page of the app it actually said which device was sending a lot of z-wave messages.
I have removed that device, disabled a couple of others that seemed to be transceiving more than others but nothing has helped.
I have reached out to athom as well and heard nothing.
PTP is not helping.
Even zigbee seems more miss than hit.
lights come on with their flows occasionally then don’t turn off again, same for the hot water.
It has become completely useless.
strange, after removing the chatty devices, did you perform the ptp?
also please check and remove unknown nodes…
And this isn’t only a Zwave issue.
Have some Zigbee devices which can’t communicate with the Homey Basis too since some days.
A restart helps often
This devices worked fine for the first two months with Homey 2023 and over years with the 2019.
In our house with around 170 Z-Wave devices I have the same issues as described before. Before RC122 everything was working fine.
Removing chatty (rx high) devices helps for a short time but then other devices having the same problem a day later. Currently Homey is fully unusable for me and the family. I removed already 1/3 of the devices, have reconnected others, invested a lot of hours but nothing helps and this is really frustrating. If you cant rely on your smart home system then things become really difficult. Currently I do try to calm the family to wait another day in the hope that athom comes with a solution. With every day frustration level increases and now I’m on a point to seriously change to Home Assistant. I started some parallel tests a couple of weeks ago and can say that it works much more stable and also very important it gives you the transparency that you know what is going on currently
Really Athom do something now or tell Z-Wave owners not to use Homey but not leave them in the dark!
It’s still in Early Release status, so you shouldn’t rely on it anyway.
Very strange story and completely incomprehensible.
I have almost 100 Zwave devices on early 2023 and everything is running completely stable.
Only yesterday I added several Zwave devices without any problems.
Have you ever checked what temperature Homey is ? With these hot days and an unfavourable location, the chips could go crazy if they overheat. ![]()
![]()
Homey doesn’t report its temperature but environment temperature is 29.5C.
Edit: Homey temp is 67.6C.
Homey: 59,9c
28c in the room where Homey is located
OK, 60 degrees is not yet alarming. Homey, or the installed CM4 module, only clocks down at around 75 degrees.
The temperature should have nothing to do with your problem.
Can you try another power supply? Maybe yours is damaged?
Why do you think that the power supply could be the source of the message too much z-wave traffic? Is there any relationship between the power supply (or the impact of it on the homey) and this message?
I will try to directly connect the origin power supply to the homey without the ethernet adapter test this case and then do another test with another power supply. As after a restart it takes some time until the problem comes up again, the feedback will take a bit.
I once had the experience with the old Homey that bad or defective power supplies can transmit interference frequencies.
In my case, it was a desk lamp that totally messed up Homey.
Athom has already confirmed the Z-Wave issues (related to S2) and sees the issues with chatty devices where messages are multiplied 30 times within one second. They are working on it and have received several bug reports about this.
The power supply here has been checked (the new one), as well as all intervals, unknown nodes, etc. Homey 2023 for now is unusable for me, with over 120 Z-Wave devices. Back to the 2019 and all works fine.
And just for ‘entertainment’; a 1,5 seconds of log of my Homey 2023, which is going crazy.
This happens to almost all nodes.

Agree, reading all posts about “Reputation of Homey” and stuff, but we all knew we bought Beta units in Pre-release stage. I’m quite convinced this will be all gone in the final release. I’m not defending flaws, I’m just saying that sometimes in pre-release/beta hardware there is major bugs that usually is corrected before release.
Well, that final release is this month so it’s a bit unfair to throw it all on that. They are sending out review samples to media now, so it should be tested en judged thoroughly.
