I had the network operator’s service technician visit me to integrate the HomeWizard P1. If I remember correctly, he said that the P1 on the Landis&Gyr E450 isn’t a P1 port, but rather an M-Bus port.
The HomeWizard P1 can handle it, though. Whether it also works with the Homey Energy Dongle remains to be determined. The only annoying thing is that the HomeWizard P1 frequently fails with Homey, so I ordered the Homey Energy Dongle
I see! That changes things significantly; Now I don’t know if Athom would feel like / be able to pull that trick as well.
Very odd, I use it for over 4 years now, besides the occasional hickup (~2 times a year), which is device related (red ledring and such). I use a Pro2019 (wifi) btw.
Maybe with your HW P1 the adjustments / customisation for M-Bus are flaky?
It’s important to reserve IP addresses for both HW P1 as Homey, while Homey is very poor in finding devices which got their IP changed.
And all hints in this post are important.
Ok it’s been almost a week since I got it and set it up. So yeah the setup did not go smooth, no two ways about that.
But besides that it is working spot on with the data compared to the actual data from Essent, That combined with that almost everything in house is setup with Shelly plugs make this a thing that give me real time insight into what we are doing power consumption wise, what solar panels are generating, how Essent is dealing with that, and what it roughly costs even on a per device level. And when you are bit of a techie, that gives you peace of mind
Have not setup any automations yet with it though, but I am sure I can think of nice ones later on.
It doesn’t say, but it’s not older than the introduction of the upcoming Energy Dongle.
But most probably the is very recently replaced by “under investigation” due to reports of users below, stating it doesn’t work:
It would be nice when it’s possible to get updates of or subscribe to such articles.
The E350 is a popular meter probably, I’m sure they find a fix. I own an E360 (2019) which could be a newer model, but it’s reported in the same topic I mentioned as well.
Received my dongle today and it seems to fail while “Scanning Wifi”. It is right next to it, so should not be a problem.
All kinds of different errors, but mostly it says “Did not work to connect to Energy Dongle” “there was en error in adding Energy Dongle to your home (Rate Limited”
Anyone else hade the same problem? Somethimes it throws an Error 5000, wathever that means.
Thanks. I tried different but still stuck.
I tried LAN on the homey.
I tried splitting wifi to separate 2.4ghz.
I tried extra juice to the dongle.
I tried different phone.
Still nothing.
This is the last step that got stuck. The blietooth is connecting tonthe dongle though.
A rate limit error normally suggests that too many attempts/connections have been made. Does restarting your Homey work? Or perhaps give it some time and try again?
How on earth this lousy product is released? I have 1.5m from my deco and this only product on my home which wont connect to my wifi. Returning this today.
Hi, when trying to connect my Energy Dongel I get a " Rate Limited" message when it tries to connect to the wifi. Before it managed to connect but had issues with reading the meter, but I think that part is solved but i can’t get around this message.
I have tried to reboot the Homey Pro, both hard and soft and reset the dongel, but no luck. Any advice?
