To people having trubbel and new to pulling data from the P1 port. I don’t know if its already been said. But for instance all P1 ports are disabled by default by my local power company (net owner) I need to logon to my account at my power company and activate the port manually. So maybe just double-check what it is actually activated.
Same here, needed power supply, firmware update went fine. Then no data and now only solid red light no matter what I try.
I have a ZIV meter.
Mine is constantly breathing red, reset does not work.
Holding down the reset button does nothing at all.
Breathing red normally means you need to add power. Did you try to use the usb power adapter. If yes try another power plug. Then again hold for 30 sec. Normally its less.
Fyi athom is familiar with the issue of only working with a splitter (landis gyr units) so they are on it.
Mine is also breathing red, AFTER firmware update and wifi setting. It fails on reading data and keeps breathing red.
Factory reset didn’t help, same issue after setup steps.
Used a 2.0A Homey power supply and other 1.0A power supplies.
First the shipping mess. And now this.
Great
I didnt get a firmware update. Where do you get this? Mine is on firmware 12
Once I connected it the first time it did a firmware update.
It didn’t for me
Maybe I got a prototype… seeing how great it works…
Goes from breathing white to slow breathing red.
Mine did. I am, like you, on 12.
Mine is going back. Piece of junk. Not worth the frustration.
The dongle deliverd today, fits easy in the mailbox. Pluged in, setting wifi, add as device in homey, update firmware. Easy job 3 min work. ![]()

Same here!!
Same here. Same problem.
Great to see again that Athom is on top of this. No way am I paying for a splitter for their product to work.
But again, no word on these issues from them. Will they ever learn.
Can we isolate the issue to a type of smart-meter ?
My issues are with a Landys + Gyr E360
Is there anybody with a working dongle on this type without using a splitter?
That should be; ene5\xs210 esmr 5.0
To chime in with the rest; Mine is on firmware version 12
According to the led status it updates when it turns purple/pink.
Same here, no problem whatsoever.
ISKRA AM550 meter, 3 fases, SMR 5.0
Zonneplan P1 dongle connected to the passthrough output.
Issue with trying to read out the Landys+Gyr E360 CD2D A 3D.A0.
But the issue is now also for my old P1 dongle (from plugwise), not just the Homey dongle.
So looks like that the (/this) meter can shut down its P1 port when something “bad” happens.
Probably when you connect the dongle before connecting the (seperate) power and thus pulling too much power from the P1 connection (or perhaps something during the update?).
Unfortunatly it isn’t too easy to reset yourself, unless your main fuse box isn’t sealed (it is here, don’t want to break the seal just for this), so going to contact my provider if they are willing to reset it, which they should be able to.
EDIT: PS: the disabling of the P1 connection is a bit of speculation, but it just looks like it for now.
Will give more update when I recieved more infomation from my provider, if it was really the case or not.
Just in case, diag code: 24C91824
Restarted the dongle a few times, haven’t reset it or anything, haven’t restarted the app either.
Big update:
I’ve had contact with my energy provider, and they couldn’t, even if they wanted to, disable or (re-)enable the P1 port again, it was more likely that my old plugwise was broken, and Homey Energy dongle just not able to read properly (yet), or also broken, or in the worst case the P1 port being broken (pretty expensive, as that means replacing the entire meter).
Found it pretty doubtfull at first that plugwise broke just after unplugging it, or plugging into Homey’s energy dongle as it had worked for several years, but you probably guessed it, it really did fail).
It failed not because of The Homey energy dongle, but because of a vacuum charger that was in the same power strip that was starting to fail, letting +190VAC through to the Null, and thus on the usb connectors’ outershell that took out the plugwise, and perhaps also the Homey Energy dongle (bad usb charger design that let something like that through).
To be continued, for the Homey Energy dongle ![]()
