Aqara FP300 with Matter!

So your Matter-over-Thread device only starts to malfunction when the Homey Aqara app is enabled? This should be reported to the app developer (here: https://community.homey.app/t/app-aqara-xiaomi-smart-home-simplify-your-life-with-a-smarter-home/156) and to Athom support homey.app/support.

Already report it to the maker of the aqara app….

Added it with Zigbee.. Works great.

The app doesn’t handle Matter, that’s all done by Homey’s core.

I added my second fp300 via zigbee with the homey aqara app. In the advanced settings it does not show the firmware version but an empty field. Is that normal?

Same here

Mine arrived today.

I have also recently bought a G410 doorbell which I am testing.

I installed it in the bathroom. It seems to be working although the presence sensor needs some more learning.

The weird thing I first installed it on the AQARA app through ZIGBEE.

Then via the Homer AQARA-app in Homey. But when I install its on homey, it is removed on the AQARA app.

Can’t it be installed on both at the same time via Zigbee?

There seems to be a bug on the Presence Detection Setting. I will report it to the app maker.

No. Each Zigbee device can only be connected to one Zigbee coordinator at a time.

Is anyone getting accurate battery status, just sitting at 100%

What exactly do you mean? It contains lithium batteries, so the voltage won’t decrease weekly. You’ll probably only see a change after a few months.

Just want to make shore I understand before ordering the fp300.

Without the Aqara hub:

  1. Will it be installed with Mather or zigbee?
  2. Will both pir and mmWave be used for precense?
  1. you can install by either Matter or Zigbee. Zigbee gives you full functionality
  2. both can be used at the same time but you can decide to use only one if that gives you the best result in your situation

And the Aqara hub. There is no need for it?

I have 2 installed via Matter and working ok (have to repair one of them occasionally). I do experience the delay in detecting no presence (about 10 sec). I switched one of them to Zigbee mode to see extra functionality and the delay is shown as 10 seconds but can’t be changed to a lesser value (in the Aqara Home app)

Are they fast to detect presence?

honestly nearly instant if positioned correctly

What is the best postion to hang them up ? Have one in the hallway, but it doesn’t respond, from a distance or stays on for a long time.

Hi,

I received my FP300 two weeks ago, and so far, it’s been functioning well.

It’s located indoors, approximately 50 meters away from my homey Pro. However, with my Matter network setup, I don’t anticipate any issues based on distance.

It’s quite responsive. I began integrating it using the Homey Pro iOS/Matter function. As I’m doing with all new Matter Device, then they are added to HomeKit or HA with the Share function.

(Note: the icon with the little Matter logo is nice, I would like it for all type of communication standard)

The only drawback is that when I check the log inside Homey, it’s very accurate, but in the Dev tools, it’s quite poor: 26 Years ago

Where in the log of the device:

have an Aqara FP 300 in a hallway with two flows. The first flow turns on a light when the motion sensor is activated, and the second flow turns off a light when the presence sensor is deactivated. It works fine except if the motion activation is brief and the presence sensor isn’t triggered; then the light doesn’t turn off. Does anyone know how I should configure the flows to prevent this?

Thanks

@Maximino_Cantero_Mar ,

I just ordered my fp300 sensors, and I was wondering the same thing (in advance). Could you tell me what (advanced )settings are available on the device settings page? Maybe through a screenshot?
I was wondering if you are able to adjust the PIR sensor’s blind time for this.

I recently wrote this Tutorial about how to implement motion sensors and still gain full control on when en how to turn them off.

I want to replace my P1s by the fp300, but I want to keep the setup I already have with the virtual presence sensor in the middle to keep this control. I was wondering if updating this flow like the following will work and also solve your problem as well: (bear in mind, this is a modified screenshot as I did not receive my fp300 yet). Maybe someone can perform a test to see if this works?
