Aqara has just launched a battery operated, matter compatible presence sensor. Exciting.
Says battery will last two years.

More details in this article. Mentions support for Homey.
And it seems to be named FP300
Will it work without the aqara hub
Perhaps.
The article implies that it should work without the hub, but that specific settings will probably need to be set up in the Aqara app. Guessing this is for example to set up zones.
It’s matter/ thread
Interesting, however if you want zones it is not going to replace fp2…
Does the FP300 not have this possibility?
From the description it does not.
Need to see it to believe it…
When is the fp3000 available then
I have not seen anything more specific than Spring 2025
I would be careful with Aqara and Matter. I have two locks U200. Really like them. But connecting them with matter has proven difficult. Even to the own Aqara hub. One I was never able to connect other than with Bluetooth. The other I was able to connect via HomeKit and share from there. As both U200 are showing same challenges I‘m pretty sure it‘s some Firmware issue (I have the latest). But I‘m optimistic they‘ll fix that someday. Btw, support wasn‘t able to help either
This was the reason I gave up on u200. Another one was the way of installation. Now I use switchbot and it works perfectly + installation is firm and reliable = all the opening options: app, nfc, fingerprint, code…
Humidity as well. Interesting.
Possibly one sensor for an entire bathroom!
What is the distance of this sensor? Is it already on the market?
Coming out in Spring, I think
Yes, but it has no zone creation, no multiperson detection, and no fall detection. It is a glorified FP1E wireless. The FP2 is way much better.
