Hey, is anyone already using the new Aqara FP400 sensor with Homey? Apparently, you need a hub to use zones. Is there any news on whether the sensor will be supported natively by the official app?

I have it at home already and you can configure it without using an aqara hub. So either you first use the Aqara Home app to directly connect to the sensor from your phone and configure the zones and then share it to Homey. Or you connect first to Homey and share it via a new Matter code to the Aqara Home app and then configure it. But when you add Zones you need to interview and sync the device attributes from the Homey developer page.
But all that said I’m currently experiencing two separate issues. On iOS i can’t get a stable connection to the Sensor for configuration and on Android I can’t complete the setup guide, but I can back out and do all other configurations without a problem (including setting up zones).
I’m in contact wirh Aqara support about this, but I haven’t found other people with those issues yet.
As for the Homey app, really doesn’t matter if they support it. It is just exposed as one sensor with multiple presence capabilities (per zone) via Matter. And zone setup is too complex to ever happen anywhere besides the Aqara Home app on your phone either way.
It matters (
) if you want to connect and control the device in Zigbee mode instead of Matter mode. But indeed, when connecting using Matter, no app is needed.
Nice to hear, but also bit strange because Aqara indeed said you need a Aqara hub for that.
question: what do you recommend? first to homey and that share it to aqara?
other question: do you have all the options? like AI learning and the other settings you can change?
What’s more, FP400 can be added and configured in the Aqara Home app without an Aqara hub by using an existing third-party Thread Border Router***.
And also on the package they mention requires an Aqara hub OR a thread network.
I think their strong recommendation is to configure it in the app first. But I have found it not to make any difference.
And yes all the options are available via the app as far as I can see. The only thing I’m having troubles due to the broken initial setup guide, is that I can’t set the corner/wall position currently as this is the only thing there is no setting for outside the setup guide. So I will report back once that is figured out with their support.

you can make zone’s in the aqara app and see them in the homey app as different zone’s?
They show up within the same device as multiple different sensors in homey.
