Aqara fp400

Today i added the FP400, same Situation like the guys above reported, no zone names will be transmitted over Matter protocol, this brings confusion if you create all zones at once in the aqara app because in the homey app you cant see any differents, the zones will be listed with Presence alert (1)..(2)..(3)

So i recomend to make a zone in the aqara app, sync this zone and give them a notice in the homey app, after this repeat this procedure as much zones you need…

One further information which i dont know, this screen (pic.below) you only get if you have no aqara hub in your system installed, in my case it was and so i never get this option because the aqara app always want to continue with the hub! First i had removed my hub (Cam Pro G5) from my aqara account i get this screen and could continue like the description below…also keep in mind you need for this step a Thread Mobile Device, i used my iPhone Pro15, this model had Thread onboard!

Hi everyone! I’m working on Zigbee support for the FP400 in my Aqara Community App, but there are currently a few blockers:

  • Reading detection zones saved on the sensor fails with FP400: truncated ZCL value.
  • The same error occurs when the sensor detects more than two people.

I’ve reported the issue here: Homey Apps SDK issue #481.

The underlying limitation is in Homey’s Zigbee implementation, so I can’t fix it at the app level. Athom has acknowledged it and added it to their roadmap, but hasn’t provided an ETA or confirmed whether a solution will be possible.

At the moment, I can’t get detection zones configured through Homey over Zigbee. In my testing, without those zones, the sensor doesn’t report presence, which makes it of very limited use with this integration for now.

Yesterday i installed new FP400 Firmware, v1.2.0.0, Homey itself does not recognize that a new software is available, not in the Homey App on iphone (Settings->Device Updates) also not under the Device Maintenance Settings “Search for Update” Button.

Well i decide to make it over the Aqara App, the Updates runs through without problems, i decide further to test the other way for integration of the sensor into Homey, made factory reset and go the way over my G5pro Cam which is a Aqara Hub as well, the matter controller is still homey and my G5pro Cam and the sensor are part of the Homey thread network, the benefit of this is that you have access from outside and should have more options (can’t confirm) inside the aqara app, if you don’t need it you can go the directly way like i had described above as well. Regarding the zone names are no changes…but the zones are working under Thread an could be programmed in the flows…

Aqara FP400 – Firmware v1.2.0.0:
Protocol Updates:

1. Improved long-distance and wide-angle person tracking to reduce target loss.

2. Optimized detection of sitting and sleeping scenarios to improve status recognition accuracy.

3. Improved false-positive filtering to reduce false alarms.

4. Fixed an issue with coordinate display when the sensor is installed in the reverse orientation.

Aqara is kind of bad with publishing Firmware via the official Matter update ledgers… So this update would also not show up via other 3rd party controllers. I really hope they improve in this regard in the future.
