Wait, we are talking about the Aqara Homey app right, not the Aqara android app? When you use the Aqara Homey app to connect your device via zigbee, it uses the zigbee antenna on your Homey Pro or Homey Bridge. There’s nothing you would have to change on your android device in order to make Homey recognize your FP300 sensor.
I’m receiving 2 FP300 today, but still in doubt how to proceed with connecting.
I have a Homey Pro with Aqara Homey app, with all other Aqara items. But I also have the Aqara E1 hub, which comes with the curtain drivers.
What is the best practice to proceed? I’m leaning towards Homey by Zigbee with the Aqara app.

That’s not entirely correct; you can also add the FP300 via Matter in the Aqara Homey app, not just Zigbee.
I’m talking about the Aqara app. Since I can’t switch to Zigbee, I have it working, I think it’s using Matter. I’m not sure if I’m wrong, but I believe you can’t change the sensor parameters from Homey Pro.
Ah, i understand it now. You will have to connect the fp300 with your phone app via Bluetooth in order to be able to change it’s protocol to zigbee right?
Yes, but as I said, the Acara Bluetooth app keeps freezing and not working. I’m wondering if anyone on the forum knows why the app freezes on my Samsung Galaxy S23 and what I need to change on my phone.
I think that this is where your problem lies. Due to a limitation with Matter, the sensor actually only has a single motion alarm. No-one really knows what logic Aqara is using to calculate the motion alarm value and whether the mmWave sensor is used at all. If you can figure out how to switch to zigbee, you will have much more control.

I wonder if the FP300 can recognize multi zones if I use the sensor at living room. Is it possible? Or multi zones works with Aqara hub only (zigbee) only?
If I connect it to Homey pro with zigbee , can I work with zones?
Hi, The FP300 is not multi-zones.
Using the Matter firmware, you’ll have less parameters. If you have a M3 Hub, it would be better to use Zigbee and add the M3 Hub into homey.

If you connect this trough thread (or Zigbee) to Homey, do you have the possibility to adjust the settings for mmWave and AI learning?
Can this tweaking be done with the Aqara IOS app or do you need one of the Aqara hubs?
Firmware update, could this be done with the Aqara IOS app?
Is there any benefits/drawback connecting the FP300 directly to Homey vs trough a dedicated Aqara hub which is then added to Homey?

There is a new firmware update.
Only available via the Aqara home app. My device is connected with the Aqara hub M100. I do not know if this is required for update process. Another device is directly connected to Homey, but then you can not update.
Aqara does not give support if device is directly connected to Homey: “If it is used on a third-party platform without going through the Aqara hub, we do not support this method, and some unknown abnormal situations may occur.”
I have some issues, for example detection of movement every minute without person detected. Very annoying. Hopefully this is resolved.
