Aqara FP2, mmWave presence detection on WiFi

Thanks I sent that over. A bit of additional info (and potentially for others) is I tried to extend my network using a pure extender / mesh options, but ended up stripping that out entirely (I don’t recommend if you use Chromecast and potentially other “smart” devices which can’t communicate properly) and reverting back to my router with 2.4Ghz band enabled only. I had to reset the FP2s (10 second hold) around the home at this point. A couple of them reconnected in the Homekit App with no issue including the furthest one from the router. I hard reset one (10 quick presses) which is a pain to reset the areas up on, but it still doesn’t get picked up by Homekit. I did all this after re-installing Homekit just to have a clean slate after ripping out the extender/mesh node. Everything is working on the Aqara app just fine as it was before in terms of room / area presence and what not.

Mine seems to be working a lot more reliably after the last update.

Looks like a reset to factory changes the ID of the FP2. This ID is used internally by the HC app as its ID as well.

Delete the device from Homey.
Restart the HC app.
Power cycle the FP2.
Probably a way around this rare condition.

Ok I keep trying and trying with no success, I just keep getting the same error

Can you PM me your log? Go to app settings, copy log…

I went to the app on my phone and on my computer and I did not see anything about a log, also went to the Aqara and homekit app setting and there’s an option to create diagnostic report, is that what you mean?

Webinterface…

Next time please send a personal message to Martin.

  • noone else needs to see your log
  • you might expose sensitive data

Sorry I’m new at this

Hi.

I have read that Aqara has now also developed the FP1E also a mmWave device, but this one is using the Zigbee protocol.

Anyone any experience with it?

Hi, having a hard time connecting an FP2 as well.

I set it up in the aquara app and seemed fine. I installed the Homekit Controller which picked up the sensor, it had three instances presumably the presence, illumination and a zone i set in the app. I didn’t have any luck adding these though. I selected one and put in the code from the arm on the sensor, a black box popped up that looked good but when clicked OK it just dropped back to the same window with only an ok or cancel option. Ok just looped round, cancel aborted the installation.

I tried removing the FP2 from the aquara app, resetting the FP2, removing and reinstalling the Homekit app and restarting the homie app. I added the FP2 back on the aquara app, reinstalled Homekit Controller and tried again, but now when go to the Homekit icon under add devices no new device is found.

Any ideas?

Pls start by using the Homekit Controller app topic

Hi,
Excuse me for my English, I use a translator as you will quickly understand :joy:
I have paired the FP2 via the Homekit Controller app, but one function does not seem available: Not taking into account the movement of my robot vacuum cleaner. I know that it is the AI that manages it at the Aqara app level, but is it possible to recover this function with Homey?

Because I use the FP2 as an alarm system and I would like to avoid adding exclusions by time to my flows (my vacuum cleaner is not Homey compatible).

Thank you in advance for your help

Hello I am having trouble and need help I followed the instructions and used the homekit controller app to add my fp2 sencer to homey but a few minutes after adding it in the honey app the fp2 sencer gets a red icon and has an error when I click on it and when I reset and do the process again it just does the sane thing so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I am not an ios user so I don’t have homekit but I read that I didn’t need it or need to so I don’t know why after adding the sencer is gads a red icon and error please help

Do you use HomeKit? You could add it to HomeKit and pass it to homey via some automation.

No, I do not use Apple products
