Hello there!
I just got my P1 meter (v4.18) which I wanted to add to HomeyPro (2019). I’ve installed this app and tried to add my P1, however it says ‘No new device found’. I have to tell, there is no device at all.
The P1 has been setup correctly, it has wifi, local API is enabled, other systems can see it, also I can reach it’s API via browser call.
I’ve tried above practices already, but no luck…
Please advise.
Restart the Homewizard Homey app, of not restart Homey itself.
Can you also see it in the mDNS Discovery browser?
Thanks for the prompt response!
Both Homewizard app and Homey have been restarted separately. Tried to enable-disable Energy app’s local API, and restart app/homey while local API is turned off. Restarted the P1 meter too (and unplugged and plugged back).
mDNS I could get to my phone, which sees the sensor - I guess - properly, pls see it here:( IP and serial I masked)
p1meter-
0803BC._hwenergy._tcp.local.
p1meter-0803BC.local:80
192.x.x.x:80
api_enabled = 1
path = /api/v1
product_name = P1 meter
product_type = HWE-P1
serial = 5c2fa*****c
Are Homey and your P1 in the same subnet?
No VLAN subnetting, if you do have VLAN are you allowing http (80/tcp) traffic from Homey to P1?
Yes, they share my IoT VLAN, which has no restriction to port 80. There is only 1 subnet within this VLAN. (192.168.20.x)
Ok try to add the P1 to Homey if they are in the same subnet.
Then when it fails go to my app settings and hit diagnostic, this should generate an email to me with the logs.
Hi Jeroen, is it possible that when you connect the p1 meter to the homey the original app from energy wizzard is not showing all the data anymore?
Unplugging the p1 helpt ![]()
Hi Jeroen,
I know its odd, and you can think I changed something in the background (I did not, promise
), but today morning, when I was about to generate the log for you, Homey suddenly recognized the P1 meter…
I guess the Great Ghost of the IT world was nice to me today, I don’t have any other explanation ![]()
Anyhow, I really appreciate your attitude and help, more people should be like you!
Thank you!
Zoltan
Sorry don’t understand your question. ![]()
Oh ya the all time famous glitch in the matrix. ![]()
Dear Mr. Homewizard,
Since my Homey pro 2023 has updated to software version 10.0.6 all measurement parameters of my P1 meter are frozen.
“Latest info” is exactly 19hours ago, exactly in sync with the time my Homey updated .
The P1 meter info is still live available in the “Energy” app so it’s still connected and online.
Could you investigate and push patch to ensure all my Energy flows work again please.
Please follow troubleshooting steps in first post.
Great, reboot of P1 meter did the trick.
Srry for the RTFM support ![]()
Great app with many valuable applications.
Efficient use of many (high) energy consumers.
No worries, we all went through this kind of troubleshooting before, hence I marked it on top of this topic so others can avoid struggles. Reboot/restart/power cycle the P1 has proven to fix most of the P1 problems we face.
v3.2.14 pushed to certification (stable)
Hi! Is it possible to report the power usage when the power plug is turned off.
Now it is 0 watt but in reality it must be something between 1-2 watt. When having loads of these plugs this is relevant.
Thanks!
I understand the reason but honestly the measure is about what is plugged in the socket. There are users that have a flow checked if usage is 0 and if I starts to add 1 watt for every socket this will become a mess as their flows wont trigger. Moreover I dont see other sockets do the same to compensate this own socket power usage like Neo, Innr or Shelly etc.
Partly true, I see fibaro doing it in its dimmers and power sockets.
But indeed neo not and this gives me at least 15 -20 watt of discrepancy if I compare my smart metering with my homey.
Maybe I create a virtual device (all sockets) and add up all the power these use to get it right ![]()
For fibaro it is an option:
Let me think about this one. It’s a lot of work to add this to compensate this 1 watt per socket (conditionally).
