Matter 1.3 Specification Released - Will power monitoring now be supported by Homey?

@Bram_C To add and update Eve Smart Plug in Eve App have you used a Google Nest Hub with Matter support or have you used only Homey as Matter hub?

The NOUS Smart Matter Socket A8M are also not reporting energy consumption after the update.

Hi @s_dimaio. If you use the Eve-app and select your Google Home network, I think it uses the Matter network from your Google Nest hubs.
After the firmware has been updated, I removed the Eve Energy plugs from the Eve-app / Google Home and reinstall it in Homey using the Homey Matter network.
Hope this helps.

Thanks @Bram_C. Unfortunately I don’t have a Google Nest Hub but, in addition to Homey, I only have an Echo 8 with matter support but the Eve app doesn’t recognize it. I’ll try to get an Homepod from some friend and update with that.

@Doekse as you can see from these posts, until Homey doesn’t implement the ability to update the firmware of matter devices, new Homey features like energy meter on matter are unusable. If Homey wants to be an universal hub, it can’t depend on third-party hubs to update connected devices

Recent post in a TPLink forum indicates we may be close to seeing Matter 1.3 compliance available on the Tapo P110M Matter plugs: Tapo P110M update for Matter 1.3 - Smart Home Community

For the people with a Aqara U200. There is a matter update for the lock which give you the 3 options for close/open and pull latch.

you need to repair the U200 after the update in the Aqara app.

I have the same issue, no energy consumption in Homey

Anyone know anything about Ledvance/OSRAM smart plugs? I removed it from homey and added it to their own app (smart+), but no firmware seems available.

My problem is not getting accumulated consumption in homey.

SMART+ is a Tuya-based app, use the Tuya app to use your device in Homey:

As they are Tuya based they most likely won’t use the standard Matter 1.3 cluster for power measuring. Tuya has a custom cluster they use that doesn’t adhere to the Matter spec

So no way to get metering? Or will it work if adding through Tuya app instead of directly(I thought the whole point of matter was the ability to connect directly and everything just works, but seems not..).

Are you sure the ledvance matter-devices are tuya based? I normally recognize a tuya clone-app from 3 miles away, but the SMART+ app looks and behaves very proprietary.

I will try adding the plug as a tuya device instead of the matter way, though I’m not sure how yet. I guess I have to go through the tuya phone app(not just the homey app)?

Correct, but as mentioned

You are on the wrong place to complain

When Google isn’t hallucinating today Yes: Google Search

Yes, Ledvance/OSRAM smart products (especially Wi-Fi models) use the Tuya platform as their underlying technology, but they are designed to work primarily with the official Ledvance app, intentionally limiting direct, easy integration with the broader Tuya Smart/Smart Life ecosystem for Home Assistant and other platforms due to data privacy concerns and to maintain control over their cloud services, requiring workarounds like Local Tuya.

Thanks! Added it through tuya, and its got some metering now - it’s just confused on the scale, so when current usage in W is set correctly as indicator, accumulated consumption is reported 10fold. Guess I have to choose between correct accumulated and correct current usage.

Where you ever able to get the energy readings from the nous a8m when connected straight to homey or not?
