[LIST] Does it Matter and Work over Thread

Does anyone know these plugs will work via matter and power measurement

They do work, but only for on/off. They don’t use the standard Matter cluster for power consumption, maybe with a firmware update in the future.

Which plugS you recommend then who have it?

@Doekse I have now bought an eve plug to also strengthen the network via thread because of my nuki smart lock but I don’t see any energy metering with the latest EC firmware is that right?

Are roller blind motors matt over thread working via Homey?

I see this and I’m a j. Interested

@Doekse

Hi all,

Tips?

I am looking for someone with experience with any in-wall double switch with Matter/Thread (using Homey thread).

For example, this one: Inels Matter Double Switch and generic experience here. Thanks to @Alex_Elgart

Or any other device you know?

I get an Apple HomePod that I want to add some devices to thread and so on

Can I thread the HomePod to homey and use the devices in HomeKit with homey?

That’s unfortunately not how Matter works at the moment. Both the Apple HomePod and Homey Pro act as Matter Controllers and Thread Border Routers.

Some Matter Controllers support sharing non-Matter devices with other Matter Controllers via Matter Bridge functionality, but as far as I know, the Apple HomePod doesn’t currently offer this feature.

Also, keep in mind that this is different from Matter Multi-Admin, which allows Matter-enabled devices to be shared across multiple ecosystems. However, for this to work, the devices themselves must support Matter natively.

Even if it did, Homey wouldn’t support it because those devices would not be certified :man_shrugging:t3:

In this case, only the Matter Bridge requires certification, not every device that is passed through its functionality

Taking opportunity to ask following:
Do you plan to be able to join existing Thread network instead of broadcasting own?
Thanks

@Doekse since the latest firmware update it seems at least for some people matter devices are broken. I can’t use my U200 lock and reconnecting also does not work as it always fails on the connecting to Thread step…

OK. Did you do the famous “always restart again after a firmware update” trick already? And if that doesn’t solve it, cut the power for several minutes?

Will this work also now ?

Anyone tested ?

Looks like the MSP844EU. As I mention in another thread, this power outlet works fine with Homey. You get 4 devices for the 220V power outlets, 1 devices for USB ports. And it can be switched on/off. That’s all

Also energy monitoring ?

No, for the MSP844EU there is no energy monitoring over matter in Homey yet. Maybe I’ve to re-add the outlets. But I will wait until next Homey firmware which should improve energy monitoring for matter devices.

According to the changelog, this was included in the current experimental firmware version v12.4.2-rc.6:

Thank you @DirkG - I’m still waiting until 12.4.2 is GA and after that, I reconnect the Matter devices.

I reconnected this outlets with success using Matter and get the power consumption in Homey with Insights for it:

  • Eve Energy
  • Meross MSS315 (EU)

This outlet connects too, but power consumption is still not reported:

  • Meross MSS844 (EU)

I’m using Homey 2023 with OS 12.4.2.
