But now Athom states they can not help it.
only if the router can isolate it in its software. This is not build in with Delta fiber … so homey is basically stating the energy dongle does NOT WORK ON the new wifi 7 router from DELTA fiber in the netherlands
disappointing… especially since the dongle is the ONLY device (25 wifi connected devices) that is showing this behavior … Delta would never spent time in solving this
So i am stuck … anyone having ideas ?
can i use an alternative dongle that shows real time energy usage ?
To prevent AP hopping you can use
- MAC filtering: every network device has it’s own unique device identifier which you can allow/block on an AP
- Band steering
- Transmit power tuning
Did you already add a separate 2.4GHz wifi SSID for your IoT devices? Many IoT devices only can connect to 2.4GHz wifi.
Maybe the dongle can handle it’s wifi connection better.

Bypass the AP’s:
You can use an old(er) wifi router to connect the dongle with;
Configure it with the same subnet, but, use a different SSID.
That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.
Ever since 2016 Homey / Athom products can’t deal (very well) with wifi 5/6/7 with or w/o APs, and I’m clueless why that is.
Standard Internet modem/routers often aren’t the most versatile or best suited in combination with IoT devices.
Consider adding your own router to the mix.

Mac filtering etc is not possible on The Delta wifi7 router. Also called them for support … none of the options available.
i do not have another router unfortunately.
