Google Nest SDM

I am now trying to get Legacy Nest access to work.

I have read the instructions, but I’ve not used the development tools previously so I’m not understanding the instructions of getting the needed elements (NEST Session Issue Token URI AND the NEST Session Cookie) from within the development tools. I’ve tried searching for iframerpc (but only see iframe). I also don’t find oauth2/iframe when I search.

Would someone be kind enough to provide more details on how I can get these elements from within the development tools.

Thank you!

So, I got it - finally - again it made me feel very stupid; but I learned!

I was looking under elements, source etc. but then I read:

How to get the Session Cookie (pentest-tools.com)

I just needed to stay on the network tab and press ctrl-r to refresh! Hope this helps others that are confused - but seeing everyone else had succeeded maybe it was just me

The instructions were clear just not me!

Now as Martin says: I’ll have fun! Thanks, Martin, for your work on this!

Just being curious, are you using nestProtects and are you able to add?

Hope you have fun indeed, just checked instructions as well, => refresh should not be needed, it devtools updates when things happen. Click network tab is in there…

After I added 2 Nest Protect smoke/co alerts (as well as Nest doorbell and camera) with the Google Nest SDM app, I found this in Homey timeline:

The device history says this:

In Nest app there both working fine.

What does this mean? Will the alerts trigger flows in case of heat/smoke/co? Is there a way to test it without actually burning down the house?

Only the first time it sets the values, it goes from null to false, this triggers the alarms…

Ah thanks for replying lightning fast! That makes (a little bit) sense to me.

Yes, you can buy special smoke testers that will mimic smoke

How do I get this app ?

@Martin_Verbeek I wonder, is your app still anyhow being restricted from the official store?

never tried, because i am pretty sure it will be a nightmare getting it in

Maybe they improved?

For me there was another reason to NOT getting it on the regular app store. This app is not the easiest to set up (understatement) and by releasing it on the HCS it sort of makes a filter in the type of users that are willing to go the extra mile… I still have a reqular job :open_mouth:

Understood, however for that kind of support, community shall help  But I guess that time there was also issue with having two same apps, that time Athom did not allow it, now I think it’s different. But true is it will be just complication for you. Still, thank you for everything you do.

I just miss some kind of automated updates, changelog maintenance etc. - Homey Community Space as I see, do not share those details (haven’t registered yet despite I donated…) and also not all the apps made it back, on top there are still some issues with the store itself, so in my case I just pray my HP23 will not die so that I would need to reinstall apps from HCS

Someone have an idea where I might have gone wrong when the battery doorbell doesn’t feed values to Homey? I’ve followed the guide step by step some days ago, but no values appear.

did you also get this message on the nest project? let me check how to set the retention within a day.

We're writing to inform you about a change to Cloud Pub/Sub message retention pricing, effective June 30, 2024. Starting on that date, we'll begin charging for storing unacknowledged messages in subscriptions beyond the first 24 hours. Currently, there's no charge for this within the default seven-day message retention period.

You won't incur any new charges if:

Messages are processed within 24 hours.
Unacknowledged messages older than 24 hours are already retained through Topic Retention.
Please note that storage costs of $0.27 per GB-month will be charged after the first 24 hours

Nee. Maar ik kan me niet voorstellen dat de app unacked messages heeft. Zal een op mijn project kijken

Unacked komt nooit boven de 10m bij mij…

yep put retention to 12 hours , just to be sure, it was 7 days
