[APP][Pro] Ubiquiti UniFi Protect

How is an invalid API key error related to VLAN’s?

No idea, I though it was connected to the vlan. but if it isn’t… how can I fix this?

Perhaps ask in the app thread: [APP][Pro] Ubiquiti UniFi Protect

Ok, I’ll try there. Thanks!

Homey and UniFi Protect controller must be on the same VLAN or you must change the firewall to open the port 443 to the unifi controller. And please use the V1 method and not the V2.

That is a problem… Homey is on the iot vlan (40) and the Unifi Protect Controller is on the trusted vlan (1). Is there a way to still make it work?

I think it’s better to buy some support to help with you special situation. What is V1 saying ?

Buy support? For a Homey app?

Maybe this is part of the problem… when I open the app it gives this error.

Please use the V1 method en enter the details on V1 page.

Hi @ObelixNL

Just a bug report. If I put only cameras in to a zone, there is no zone activity handling. If I put a single motion sensor next to a camera, it handles all as motion sensor. Experienced only with Protect app.

Other Bug report:

I have G3, G4, G5 and G6 cameras in my setup. Streaming does not work well only with G6. It starts the stream, but the whole picture is blacked out, while sound comes out. In UI interface all cameras have the same config.

I’ve V1 and V2 working now… solved the vlan problem. But live video is not working on my iphone (it is on my windows pc)… Any ide why and how to fix it?

Any chance the USL motion detectors will be supported?

I just installed the app and a new doorbell lite and have the same result in Homey. The snapshots work, but the live stream stays black. Did you manage to resolve the issue?

I’ve been trying for a couple of hours now, and still no live stream. Found a couple of posts on the forum, and this might be a Homey issue.

Short update. Since 1.12.7 update no any camera feed come in.

Do you have V2 enabled ? When yes, please remove all V2 credentials and restart the app. Will it work again?

I’ve been debugging all day, and to get the stream working you have to set encoding to standard and set the fps to custom 24 in unify. I’ve also added a firewall allow rule for port 8555 from my client network to Homey. With these settings it’s working for me in the browser, Android app, and IOS app. The apps have huge framedrops though so “working” might not be the best classification.

I have created an ticket at Homey to explode this issue with streaming.

I also created a ticket, did a lot of debugging, sent info and screen captures and this is the final response:

Hoi Michael,

Ubiquiti UniFi Protect and Access | Homey

Dan sluit ik hiermee dit ticket, omdat je dit verder met de Community App ontwikkelaar verder afhandelt.

My remaining issue is frame drops in the Homey app, the live stream works. It’s fine in the browser but works poorly in the app on Android and iOS.
