[APP][Pro] smpl products - Battery powered e-ink display

I have now updated Homey to 1.0.0.RC122 on Homey Pro (early 2023) and installed the test-version of smpl-app (v.2.2.2). Display still shows „The device is connected to you hub. Ready for data. It‘s that simple!“.

Anything else I have to do to convince the display to show the desired content?

Thanks for your help!

it’s rc133, with a bunch of zigbee updates. Smpl is mentioned in the update.

The smpl display now works with hp23, but devices are not updating for me. Variables update like it should. Anyone else have the same problem?

I cannot reproduce your issue. Can you create your display layout again and set this active thought the flow again. And try again?

Hmm… Now the smpl is acting up really weird.
I made a new layout, now only with battery from my Tesla and a variable with the minutes until the next bus arrives. The battery on my Tesla now is 21%, but Smpl show 17%. Also when adding the new display layout it was showing 17% as if the smpl reads values that are old. When resetting the smpl app I get new values, but they’re still not updating…

Please consider:

  • remove the display from your HP2023
  • un-install the smpl app
  • reboot your HP2023
  • install the most recent test-version v.2.2.3 of the smpl app
  • create a display layout
  • make a factory reset of the display by holding the back-button while you insert batteries
  • pair your display again
  • create a new flow to push data to your display

Did all this. Still the same problem. Data coming from apps does not update.

@Kjettern
Have you shared please the diag, after you made all those steps? Might help…

What do you mean?

I mean diagnostic report from the app

There u have it

have you:

  • set a) automatic updated to ‘yes’, (device is resumed/not paused) and
  • b) time between updates to ‘1’?
  • installed smpl Homey app test-version 2.2.3?

Nothing strange in this log. Can you try a different device?

I have auto update, set to 1 min. Test version is installed. I’ve tried multiple devices, tesla app, yr, Tibber power. All same result, not updating.

Your order number indicates that your device has been operating since February.
Despite showing 100%, your batteries could be low. Can you try and insert new/fresh batteries.

Ok so I changed batteries. Still not updating info from apps. Variables are updating ok. What’s weird is that the app info is not updating in the smpl app settings either. My guess is that there’s a bug there and not in the device.

Edit: Look at the screenshot. The app is not updating the app data, only the variable

@Kjettern Have you really uninstalled the app in your homey and then installed it again? And then add the screen again as a new device.

I had this problem until i did just this…

Try and make another display layout with data that updates more frequent. E.g. a clock variable etc. And see if the display updates accordingly.
