[APP][Pro] Homewizard 🧙‍♂️

@zakraket please get yourself a mdns browser to see what is going on.

Apple/Iphone/Ipad

Google/Android

And search for:

_hwenergy._tcp

yes, I unplugged it for >10sec (I don’t have/need a USB adapter)

edit: using mDNS Discovery finds the P1 meter @ IP 1.187

Homey reports (on the device “page”): Device not available (Forbidden)

Literally in Dutch: Apparaat niet beschikbaar (Forbidden)

and does it also have api_enabled=1 when you click on it?

No, it doesn’t, how can I change that?

In Homewizard Energy app, go to meters, P1 device and scroll down to toggle Lokale API switch to on.
You must have turned it off hence Homey is not allowed to use Local API features (forbidden).

well that’s strange, I wasn’t even aware of this section of the HW-app; I connected P1 2 months ago, added the device to Homey and have not used the HW-app every since…

But it was turned off there and after resetting the Homey-app my P1 is back. I feel a bit silly, tnx

Hi,

Updated to version 3.0.8 this morning (automatically).
Now my P1 meter is not available.
Restarted app, same result.
Local API is enabled.
P1 meter is online and I can see data in Homewizard Energy app.

What can I do to solve?

Thnx in advance.

Please sent a diagnostic report from they Homey/Homewizard app to me so I can see the log.
But it must be a mdns problem. Unplug p1 (powerless) and put it back in 5-10 seconds to trigger the mdns process again.

Thnx for the quick response. Unfortunately not solved.
Made a diagnostic report: ff2d610f-87ae-4560-89e4-f7f47f0eaca1

This means Homey cant access Local API so please double check in Homewizard Energy app that P1 has Local API enabled. OR you got your P1 in a different WIFI than Homey and homey is not allowed to access it (Firewall rules?)

Thnx again for quick response.
Local API was enabled, but was now disabled for some reason. Maybe because of dis- and reconnecting.
Enabled it again. All is working.

Thank you very much. Issue solved.

WARNING
I’ve noticed (after 5 users) that in some rare cases the check box “local api” got turned off and hence P1, energy sockets, watermeter etc stop working.
Please check the main Homewizard Energy app if the LOCAL API toggle is turned ON for ALL your devices that you like to link with Homey.

Same problem here, all api access is enabled in main app, homey rebooted, restarted homewizard app in homey, removed all power sockets and P1 meter, removed homewizard app in homey, rebooted homey, installed homewizard app again in homey, but there are no devices discovered.

Ok thanks, now I need to know the following:

  • Homey and Homewizard units in same wifi network? ( reason asking is that fir example TP link advanced mesh has ipv6 option that dont work with homey)
  • Install mdns discovery app on your iphone/android and check for _hwenergy._tcp and see you can see your devices there.

Hi Jeroen,

Yes they are and always were in the same Wi-Fi network.

The P1 power meter is found by the mdns app (see attachment).
The two other powersockets I have are not found by the mdns app.

So if your sockets are not there but your P1 is then there is a multicast issue. What is your internet router? Do you use pfsense or opnsense by chance? Further your accesspoint(wifi) do you multicast settings thst could impact that?

It’s strange to me as this 3.0.8 is worked in test for almost 2 weeks with 50 users testing no issues, hence pushing it to stable and you hit this.
Now over 3400 users with P1 are on this version so if it would be my app giving issues I excepted more crash logs or people asking.

Because the P1 power meter was found by the mdns app, I tried to add it to homey and that succeeded.
So next I tried a power cycle for the power sockets (unplug and plugin again) and voilà they are found by the mdns app and also by the homey.

I cannot tell you why the problem appeared exactly on the same moment of your homey app update there where no other related changes at all.

The problem is solved anyhow, thanks for the quick support.

Ok thx for confirming. Could you please update or remove your rating comment?

Good afternoon everyone,

I have a weird problem with some Power Sockets from Home Wizard (which are imported as devices in Homey). Via the App from Home Wizard I continuously see up-to-date data, but this data is not updated in Homey. De local API was active for both devices (I am measuring the power consumption of a WTW-unit and a boiler). I disabled and enabled the API-setting, but Homey is still not able to connect to these devices. I am using ‘Simple Log’ to log a few parameters over the day (incl. These devices). Does anyone have a tip how to solve? (in the meantime I restarted Homey and that worked), but I prefer not to reset the Homey once in a while, also as I want to log 24/7 reliable data of my devices. Logging went well in the beginning.

Hopefully someone has the golden tip :-). Thanks in advance.

Best regards, Jan

I just rebooted Homey and that solved the issue, but is there not a more elegant (and robust) way?
