Meross App Support

You can tell them that we are in touch with Harvey Hu from their business development team

Often these companies are large and the support team isn’t always up-to-speed on all projects of course

I thought that would be the case. I’ll wait for them to respond first and I’ll let them know then. Thanks!

I don’t have the msg200 but I suspect it will work fine since it’s a supported device from what I can see. I have the msg100 and had no issues so far. I’ve been using it for approx a year now with homey.

Meross support eventually asked around themselves and found out it is Harvey Hu.

Not sure why this person responded with that last line either. I already admitted that it was my configuration of restarting the app too frequently cause the high frequency of the logins. I made it very clear but oh well. Issue for me is sorted and will keep that in mind. I suspect once the official app is released it will also have some login limits.

I am search for an opportunity to link my (many) MEROSS MSS305 to homey pro. Is there any option/ workaround, as the MEROSS app does not support the MSS305

The mobile app really looks like the Tuya Smart app.
You can try to pair it with the Tuya Smart app. If that succeeds, you can add it to Homey using the Tuya Cloud community app.

If it doesn’t succeed, request for support with the developer, contact info: Meross app page @ homey.app store

Sadly, it does not work. I will try the Meross developer, but I read several posts that he/ she is not active anymore

The email of the MEROSS app developer does not exist anymore - according to the message I receive, if I write a email

Yeah the complete domain of the developer’s support email is non-existent…
Apparently there’s plans for an “official” app

You could also try the SmartThings app and add Meross as a linked service. If your devices show up in the SmartThings app you can add them to Homey. Obviously you must also add the SmartThings app to Homey as well.

Thanks. Do you have any indication, when this might happen?

I tried this with all 3 available smartthings apps, but in no case I could see the devices in homey, when searching for them in the homey smarttings app. All are visible in the smartthings app.

Strange. Working fine for me…

Which setup do you use?

I added Meross in SmartThings app as a linked service. My devices then show up in the SmartThings app. Then I add them in Homey using this SmartThings Community app.

I tested the SmartThings integration with Meross devices some weeks ago. And yes, it’s working. But there’s a delay for switching on/off lights up to 10 seconds. My wife isn’t amused about this :open_mouth: and I switched back to the old Meross app. The app uses local connection and light is instant on/off (but of course with wrong colors, temperature, …).

But maybe it’s a solution for others. And I don’t know if this is faster, if you’re using a SmartThings hub in your household. I’m using SmartThings Cloud only.

Ok, i will try again

Hello, is there a way to add the Meross MOD150 oil diffuser?

Hi,
After a few emails back and forth with Meross, I received the answer below.
From their response, it seems there may be a communication misunderstanding, it sounds like Meross considers their part delivered and is now waiting for Homey to provide a solution.

Answer from Meross:

Hi JS

Thanks for the info.

I contacted our colleague Harvey Hu, and he confirmed that they are talking about this project, but the Homey team is in charge of the integration or support work for this project; we are not deeply involved in this project.

In this case, if you want to know the progress or encounter any problems when using the API, please contact the Homey team directly for help.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,
Alicia

You’re right, Meross isn’t building the integration themselves, that’s our responsibility in this case. Meross is, however, providing the APIs and documentation we need to interface with their devices.

Right now, we’re working on ensuring that the official app:

  • Lists all currently available Matter devices, and
  • Supports the first two devices on their new cloud API: the MSG100 and MSG200 garage door openers.

A sneak peek:

Other devices aren’t yet available through their API, but Meross has assured us that support will be expanded in the future.

To recap: Homey is developing the official integration, while Meross provides the APIs and documentation needed to make it possible
