Does anyone know when the latest matter update will come that allows live energy usage?
I have a 6 Tapo and 10 Meross matter plugs as well as a Sonoff POWR3 that all have energy monitoring. But I can’t see it in Homey Pro. This I believe is due to the matter firmware requiring an update.
All my devices are on the latest firmware. So just wondering if anyone knows when the latest matter will be implemented on Homey Pro
Energy reporting for Matter was implemented in Homey firmware 12.3.0.
However, a lot of devices use custom clusters, and while most of those are well-documented and implemented on other platforms, Homey doesn’t support them. Other devices (notably Tapo) don’t support energy reporting over Matter at all, the energy reporting data needs to be retrieved using alternative methods (typically using an API).
If the support is there in Matter and I can read Tapo Plugs energy monitoring through Homebridge/Home Assistant. Why can’t Homey Pro do it, given it is supposed to be the best home automation hub?
So if I want support in Homey Pro I need to replace 16 smart plugs. I guess I’ll be sending the Homey Pro back as it’s not the so called best hub they make it out to be after all.
