RIP Parasoll and welcome new MYGGBETT sensor with Matter.
Any one bought one and is it finally working in homey..?

Hopefully no more battery draining issues with MYGGBETT. The parasoll has only lasted about 2 weeks on average. Today I thought the battery died but noticed the red light was on. I repaired it and was able to get it working on the same battery.
Ordered a few of the new ikea matter devices online yesterday. Couldnât get every new matter device. Only missed out on the buttons, water leak sensor and the scroll wheel control. Hopefully thereâs another forum post on the new ikea matter devices. I wonder if anyone has had any issues or not.
Iâve also bought some of the Ikea devices for testing.
Overall I have a mixed experience, which might also result from a not so big Thread mesh network. I have âonlyâ four Thread router devices added to Homey for a, what I would rate, a normal sized German house.
My basic test setup: Homey Pro on the ground floor. Ikea devices on the first floor across the house. On the ground floor there are three Thread router devices distributed and working fine. As with a lot of houses there is a reinforced concrete ceiling in between the ground and the first floor.
KAJPLATS - not able to connect on the first floor, but working fine on the ground floor. What I find quite interesting and I would have thought a powered device has stronger RF capabilities.
MYGGSPRAY - not able to connect on the first floor, but working fine when closer to a Thread router. Reliable and fast.
MYGBETT - not able to connect on the first floor, needs to be closer to a Thread router device. Battery lifetime: Pffff⌠mixed experiences. One sensor which is partially covered (hidden in the window frame) gave up after approx. two weeks. The other, in the open, but not as close to a Thread router is still working. Now and then it triggers wihout the window beeing opened. Maybe due to a poor connectivity to the Thread network? Donât know. I now want to put the other sensor closer to the router and not covered to see if I experience the same false trigger alarms. I have four Aqara Matter over Thread door sensors that work much more reliable with better connectivity even on the first floor, partially covered.
TIMMERFLOTTE - able to connect on the first floor. Working fine and reliable for now. I like the design and the fact that the temperature / humidity is displayed when the button was pressed.
ALPSTUGA - not connecting to the Thread network on the first floor, needs to be closer to a Thread router.
BILRESA - not connecting to the Thread network on the first floor, needs to be closer to a Thread router. The design of the scroll wheel is questionable. Trying to turn it can be sometimes difficult.
My plan is to buy one GRILLPLATS per room to build a stable Thread mesh network once they are released.
Reading through forum posts It seems that the Thread network implementation from Homey is not the best (as with Zigbee). The Ikea devices are great for the price tag, but with Homey it seems a pretty dense Thread mesh network is needed.
Looking forward to the experiences from other users here.

That wouldnât help, in fact when some devices have different signal range it would cause unexpected and undesired effects.
Letâs say we have
Device A can reach device B easily: for device B to send a confirmation signal, or to send an event, or to relay an other deviceâs message as hop, it never can reach the device A.
The system wonât work as expected.
After a slightly painful start with myggbett in homey they lost connection, repair connection and they ran again, a few days later everything looked right in homey but when the windows were opened nothing happened they still looked as if they were closed... one more time repair then they ran again.... they have now run for a week now whit out problems, have tested the windows several times during the week and so far they run perfectly. To early to say anything about can't battery drain.
Have now added 4 Myggbett sensors (a fifth one didnât want to âthreadâ) to Homey. They work fine, but if you change the battery of these sensors, they need to be repaired, otherwise they keep the contact alarm continue at active.
Good afternoon,
I couldnât quickly find the answer on the forum, so Iâm asking here: I am looking to buy the MYGGBETT smart door/window sensor, but is it compatible with the Homey Pro 2019?
It is mentioned here as being supported: IKEA Home Smart | Homey
You need to switch the device to Zigbee mode.
Works fine in matter, but are the 2019 matter compatible?

No, thatâs why I wrote that the device needs to be switched to Zigbee mode.
Okay, thank you for the explanation. Iâve checked the IKEA Home Smart app page, but I canât find any information on how to put the sensor into Zigbee mode. Do you happen to know how to do this or where I can find a manual for it?
Sorry, I have no idea how to do that.
Hi everyone,
The new IKEA MYGGBETT door/window sensor is officially marketed as a Matter-over-Thread device. However, Iâve been researching online and found several reports suggesting that newer IKEA Matter products (like the Kajplats bulbs and Bilresa button) might have âhiddenâ Zigbee compatibility.
Since IKEA often uses similar chipsets across their range, there is a theory that the MYGGBETT might still have a Zigbee stack that can be manually triggered. Iâve compiled a few methods found across the web and would love for people with a Zigbee sniffer (Z2M/ZHA) to test these out.
Methods to test for Zigbee pairing:
The â4-Clickâ Standard Reset:
Press the pairing button 4 times rapidly within 5 seconds.
Observation: The LED should pulse orange/red. While this is the official Matter pairing mode, check if your Zigbee coordinator picks up any signal.
The â12-Clickâ Hard Reset (Successful on Kajplats bulbs):
On some newer IKEA Matter hardware, pressing the button (or power cycling) 12 to 15 times has been known to force a fallback to Zigbee.
Action: Rapidly tap the pairing button 12 times and see if the LED pattern changes.
The âLong Hold + Multi-tapâ Sequence:
Hold the pairing button until the LED flashes red.
Release and immediately tap the button 4 times.
Wait 2 seconds, then tap another 8 times.
(This specific sequence has been used on other dual-protocol IKEA remotes).
Battery Induction Reset:
Why test this?
If we can confirm a Zigbee fallback, this sensor becomes much more versatile for those without a Thread Border Router. However, there is a possibility that IKEA stripped Zigbee entirely from battery-powered sensors (like MYGGBETT and the Badring water leak sensor) to save power.
Please let me know if you manage to get a âJoin Requestâ in your Zigbee logs! Any feedback or logs from ZHA/Zigbee2MQTT would be greatly appreciated.
I just saw itâs only mentioned as being supported using Matter, even though the page says that the app is for all Homey Proâs.
So thereâs a good chance that these donât support Zigbee anyway⌠![]()
Thatâs a shame. Perhaps people on this forum can try it, or others who have a MYGGBETT door sensor. Hopefully, weâll get a response from them.
I"ve read the Matter enabled Ikea devices only have zigbee built-in to keep backwards compatibility. Like, controlling Ikea smart stuff directly with âclassicâ Ikea zigbee remotes by zigbee âbindingâ or âgroupingâ (without need for any controller).
Good afternoon @Peter_Kawa, just to clarify: is it possible to control them with Homey then? Or are you saying that it isnât possible that way? Sorry for the confusion.
