Homey session not found

Hello, Since yesterday evening I have problems with the homey app. The app gives this message:

When I look in the browser everything works fine. If there is a connection with the app, there are usually red exclamation marks next to all devices. This is since yesterday.

The day before yesterday the internet probably went down, because I had to reconnect all bridges and devices to the wifi.

Does anyone know how this is possible?

Just out of curiosity, Rembo:
Did you follow the link below that error message, and to what info were you directed to?

.

This is not because of an internet outage. Possibly your modem got a firmware update (without notice?) and got reset to default settings.
In that case, Homey shoukd be added to your wifi again, just like you had to do with your other devices.
Pro 23: press the pin for 8s but not longer than 25s.
Pro 2016-2019: disconnect the power, connect the power, and after half a minute: turn Homey upside down;
Go to Homey app and choose ā€œadd new Homeyā€

@Peter_Kawa It sends you to this site:

https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us

But i can’t find the solution.

I see, that’s just the knowledge base pages
…

I just finished my previous reply: possibly you have to add Homey to your wifi again as well

This morning i reset the homey (blue rgb circle) with a paperclip and connected it to wifi. After that it still happened. Via the app it says ā€˜ā€˜session not available’’, but when i go to the browser it all works.

Owww, I missed the part it does work with the web app.

I’d kill the mobile app and clear cache:
Simplest way: uninstall Homey app, reboot phone, install Homey app

This afternoon i deleted the app and reinstalled it, after that again the same ā€˜ā€˜session not found’’ error.

This evening not a single error, hope it stays like this.

Maybe clear all cookies & history in your browser. Or try an alternative browser.

It’s about the app :wink:
@Pavel_Kravarik Disable your phone’s wifi, to make it use your internet data connection.
Next, open the Homey app.
When it starts without issues, the authentication check (at Athom’s servers) succeeded, and it’s safe to turn phone’s wifi back on.

funny is that on the home wifi, all good.
outside.. 5g mobile data… i have to press refresh button few times in a row to get the devices..
otherwise session issue.
seems to be homey servers.. :smiley:

@Pavel_Kravarik Hi!

Port forwarding solved the ā€œsession not foundā€ error for me. Since I configured the port in my modem, I haven’t had the error when I’m away from home.

Would be nice to warn people about potential security implications of exposing their Homey to the outside world like this.

hm.. thanks for the advise. But honestly i dont had any issues for 2 years… now sudenly this happened. nothing changed at home, like router or wifi.

for now it started working as one guy had the some issue and it started to work one day.. :slight_smile:

@Pavel_Kravarik

I had the same thing 1,5 year no problem, but after an update for the Homey i had this issue.
Homey gave this as a solution and it works.

But again though: did they explain the security implications of this? I can easily find many exposed Homey’s using a scanner like Shodan or Censys, and they all expose their cloud ID because the brilliant minds at Athom thought it would be useful to return it as default response when making an HTTP request to Homey.

Also, Athom only recently updated a vulnerability in a Node.js module that Homey uses, which made it dead-easy to perform remote DoS attacks on Homeys.

No they said that this might be the solution and it works.
Without my Homey isnt available when i am outdoors.

If you have a another solution please, i didnt know this.

If Athom says that this is the solution, there most likely isn’t another. Just very worrisome that they didn’t warn you about the implications.

I didnt know until you said it :sweat_smile:
