Homey pro 2026 zigbee future home

And what if i’ll do like 75 zigbee devices and then for wall switches and lights maybe zwave or matter/thread?

May work. Or not. :man_shrugging:t3:

I wouldn’t recommend Matter/Thread. Z-Wave might be an option, but you can also use a Hue bridge for basic on/off devices and lights (so you can add multiple Hue bridges and then link those to Homey via LAN). They don’t have to be Philips Hue lights either to link with the Hue Bridge

That’s where the design issues begin. ( maybe, switch + shelly (wiffi) rellay)

Pffff why is it so difficult

Just my two cents: Apple Home can handle well over 500 devices, and power users have even documented setups with around 1,000 devices. To reach that scale reliably, using Matter over Thread is essential.

I’m currently running roughly 100 devices paired with Apple Home, and they have been extremely reliable. My Homey is on order, and once it arrives, I plan to share these devices with Homey using Matter’s multi-admin capability.

In this setup, Apple Home will handle the network side (with multiple Apple border routers forming a single Thread fabric), while Homey will be responsible for the more advanced automation logic. Once my Homey arrives and I’ve had time to properly test this approach, I’ll be happy to share more concrete results.
Edit:
My setup and strategy is here: Back for another try

Hi

I have around 52 zigbee devices ( most of Nokia ) and now it works without issues but during months had issues with my Nokia items that were flashing-g red : mean loosing zigbee connection.

I had more than 60 zigbee devices and so remove some and now have 52 , so I don’t know if related to Nokia zigbee limit or homey/zigbee limitations
