Homey Pro 2023 Zigbee performance issue

Hi All

I have an issue with the Honey Pro 2023.

It is running unstable and will not turn on the light when the switch is activated, or it is delayed 5 to 10 seconds.

The System CPU Clock is high (see picture below) and I have 67 zigbee devices attach to the Homey.

Is it a problem with 67 Zigbee devices??

I have also looked in the Developer tool and I can see that the app performance for the apps is approx. 34.6 MB for Memory (PSS) and 70 MB for Memory (RSS) for each app. I have 6 app´s in total.

I hope you can help. :grinning:

CPU clock looks pretty similar to my Homey and I don’t even use it for anything. Your CPU load is showing at most about 35%, so no problem.

The rest of your story isn’t very clear. Do you only have issues with Zigbee? Only a specific device? A specific flow? Did you do a PtP?

Can you share CPU utilisation and CPU frequency for eg. 6 hours only or 1 hour ? Btw best is to install sysinternals to diagnose such kind of issues but first I would probably follow on questions raised by Robert, as Zigbee devices are kind of specific…

Hi Robert

Thanks for your feedback.

I will do the PtP and see if it helps.

Regarding the zigbee devices is it random which are working or not.

I am controlling all the light in a 2 floors house.

The zigbee devices are mostly Nordtronic Box Relays and LED drivers.

The Nordtronic Box Relays are activated by the light switch and the nordtronic relay are then sending the signal trough the Hoemy to activate the LED drivers. It could be that 5 Led drivers are activated by one zigbee Nordtronic Box Relay.

The Led drivers and Nordtronic relays are placed in clusters between 1 to 20 units could that be a problem? I mean could the zigbee signal from the different units get blocked?

I can see that all Zigbee units are listed as Routers and the Homey pro as coordinator. Is it correct that the homey pro 2023 could have more than 65 Routers? I can see that the previous versions of the homey only could handle 15 Routers.

Thanks for you help

In that case it’s probably caused by Homey simply not being able to control multiple devices at the same time (an issue that has existed for many years now, so will likely never get solved). When it does, commands get lost and you end up with a random selection of devices that will receive the message while others won’t.

You probably have to look for workarounds like using the <group> app that can mitigate this issue by commanding the devices sequentially instead of in parallel.

Maybe take a look at this topic: [HOW TO] Plan and setup your Zigbee network
It says that the maximum number of devices/routers directly connected to Homey is 64. But I don’t know if this is correct.
However, it’s also quite possible that routers don’t connect directly to the HP23, but via another router. So in theory it shouldn’t be a problem.
But switching many devices at the same time can be a problem, as @robertklep already mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback.

I will use the app and see if it helps.

When it is done I will provide feedback on the result. It might be in 3 weeks’ time.
