I have a Homey Pro Early 2023 with the latest updates. This weekend I bought three smart plugs from IKEA, the Inspelning ones. When I try to connect them to the Homey, the pairing goes well; the smart plug is correctly detected and added as a device. However, when the pairing light on the Inspelning smart plug goes off (probably because the pairing process was successful), the Homey Pro immediately disconnects from the smart plug. A red exclamation mark appears next to the device, and when I click on the device, it says: “Device unavailable. This device has left the Zigbee network”. I configured the smart plug alongside the Homey. All three plugs have the same problem.
Pairing it with my Philips Hue bridge works, but the smart plug only appears as an on/off switch, even though it can also measure power consumption (which I can see in the Homey app).
That’s exactly why I bought them.
I also strongly prefer to connect the smart plug directly to the Homey, not via another system. But via the Philips Hue the connection is not broken.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?
Thank you in advance!
hello, don’t know if I can help… I share my experience..
I have around 10 Inspelning connected to my HP23 via the IKEA Home Smart plug in…half of them have the always on parameter activated…
some of them are parts of various flow, I have them for months now (more than a year for my first one)… I never have any particular problem…
about the zigbee thing now…
I used to have a lot of issues with my Ikea PRAKTLYSING blinds…
works sometimes, most of the time a lot of delay between the order and the action, sometimes not working at all…
I fixed that by creating a kind of specific Ikea zigbee network… with the blinds come tradfi signal repeater…I had 5 of them connected to my dirigera hub… I connected my 4 blinds to my dirigera hub first before sharing them with homey…
now on homey side everything is much more fluid and quick…
so my advice with your specific issue, if you have too much zigbee traffic…if you have a Ikea hub, try to connect your plugs to Ikea hub first and after share to homey with matter integration
What’s the distance between the plugs and your Homey Pro?
When the distance is too large, and there are no other Zigbee Routers in between the Zigbee network might not be stable enough. So if possible try adding the devices that will be closes to the Homey pro first.
Could still mean that the actual location of the plug will be too far out of range (that’s not specified).
If I recall correctly it’s best to pair the device as close to its actual destination as possible, as the routing could be incorrect otherwise.
OP is saying that the plugs immediately drop out of the network after pairing, so I assumed they are still next to Homey when that happens.
You are of course correct to say that if they would work, it’s better to pair them at their actual location instead of pairing them next to Homey and then moving them.
Tanks Yann, I don’t have an Ikea hub, but maybe I will buy one. I’ve connected the smart plug 20cm away from my HP23 and restart the HP23 before and after installation, but the smart plug stops working in de HP23 after about 10 seconds (after the led stops blinking on the smart plug).
Hi Robert, that’s right. When pairing the distance between the smart plug and Homey Pro is about 20 cm. I keep the situation unchanged and after about 10 seconds (when the led stops blinking on the smart plug) the Home Pro tells me the smart plug is disconnected (the white exclamation-mark appears in a red triangle in the smart plug tile).
I have inspelning paired a while ago they work fine. But I noticed with the Latest app update some of the flow cards are missing with Belrisa remote that were present before. I raised a ticket with support. May be there are more bugs in latest version.
