Aqara Presence Sensor FP1E

Hi Johan,

With that E1 hub the presence sensor does work as expected with Homey?

Hi Peter,

I was able to connect the E1 Hub to the Homey Pro using the app on my phone.

However, after installing Homey, you don’t have the functionality/options to connect the Aqara FP1 detection sensor to Homey via the hub, because it doesn’t work as a bridge.

Do you have other suggestions ?

Best regards,

Johan

Hey everyone, I also have the Aqara FP1E Presence Sensor and couldn’t find any implementation. I’ve now written one myself that detects the device via Zigbee without any hub and provides the necessary capabilities and flow cards. I’ve been using this implementation successfully for several days now and would be happy to offer it and release it as an extension.

The following features are implemented in Homey:

Capabilities:

  • alarm_presence - if person is present
  • sensitivity_level - Sensitivity level (Low/Medium/High)
  • target_distance - Current distance to detected person
  • measure_temperature.device - Internal device temperature
  • meter_power_outages - counter for power outages

Also added some custom flow cards:

  • If target_distance changed
  • If person is between x meters and y meters
  • If Person is at x m (±0.3m)

The default flow cards are there as well:

  • presence turned on / off etc

That sounds really interesting!
It would be great if you could share your implementation . I think many of us would love to try it out and maybe even help with some testing or feedback.
Thanks for your work on this, it looks like a great addition for the Aqara FP1E!

Oh wow, that’s awesome! I’ve been waiting for Homey to support the Aqara FP1E Presence Sensor for ages. Have you created an app for it within Homey?

You know what I’m waiting for? Aqara’s new sensor, the battery-powered FP300 Multi Sensor. It seems like a really cool thing and handy to hang anywhere. Hopefully, it’ll be available for Homey too.

No, I haven’t released my own app yet, since I don’t have a title for it. Homey also has restrictions regarding names and manufacturers, to prevent multiple Aqara apps from appearing in the store. I’m open to any ideas, though.

I think it will be possible to release or make this extension available for testing soon, so that you can try it out.

Nice initiative!
Just a thought, only if you like the idea of course: why not share it with the Aqara app developer, to have it added to the Aqara app. I know there’s not much visible activity there, but who knows.

I’m not sure if “Lumi Technology Co. Ltd.” == Ted Tolboom :face_with_peeking_eye:

For everyone who want’s to give my implementation a try and test.

Have fun with your FP1E devices!

Yes that would be the second stage to contribute it to the official Aqara app. If the tests here were successful i’ll contact them and share my stuff

Please let me know if everythings working for you.

I have download and it works fine. I don’t know how to use the distance stuff but for now I have it working with my light when I cum in the room and when I left it is going off. You have done this great!

The distance stuff could be used via Flowcards in your Advanced flows. There you can select a „when a Person is detected in 0.75m“ for example.

Great to hear that its working fine for you!

Okay, I’ll have to try that again. Every now and then, the light stays on and won’t turn off. It still says it sees someone, even though no one is there. That’s why I created a notification so I’m sure it will turn the light off.

Other than that, I think it’s fine. I’m also working on an INNR light with different colors. It’s a fun little gadget, but I’m still fiddling around with that. In the evening, the light should turn on when you come in, with a bright white color, but in the evening, it should turn on a duller yellow (or a fun color for once).

So, it’s a test with your app and the new INNR light. Hopefully, the motion detection will improve a bit soon, and that it will then correctly detect whether I’m there or not. It does take a bit longer to turn off than before when I had the FP1E sensor running via the Aqara hub.

So, I think everything’s working fine now. When I go to bed, the light goes on dimmer than in the early evening, and in the early evening, the light goes on full brightness. When I walk away, it turns off perfectly.

If I walk past the door, it also sees me, and the light suddenly turns on (because there’s a window). How can I prevent this? Which part of my flow should I adjust to make sure it doesn’t see me? It’s probably a distance section, but I don’t know which one to use. Perhaps you can give me some advice on this?

I am unable to add as a presence sensor. Homey adds it as a generic zigbee device. Yes has installer the app..

It’s not supported by the app.
This is easy to discover @ homey.app store :

To request support for a device, go to the dedicated app topic, or use other ways to contact the developer, as mentioned on the app page at the homey.app store

Possible workaround

Buy an €20 Aqara hub E1, and add the FP1E as Matter device to Homey.

Support for the FP1E (through Zigbee) will be released in the next app update.

The Aquara orecence app, if you scroll up a little..

I’m currently trying to install an FP1E, and I see it on my Aqara hub, but I can’t seem to see it on my Homey Pro. Even though I have a connection from the Aqara hub to Homey (the current device is connected to other ecosystems, and Homey is listed there).

How do I get it to show up in Homey Pro after installing it on the Aqara hub? Can someone help me with this?

I initially only had the FP1E on my Homey Pro, but I’d like to have it on my Aqara hub first and then on Homey Pro. I’ve deleted it on Homey Pro and reinstalled it on my Aqara hub, but now I don’t see it on my Homey Pro anymore. How do I get the FP1E to show up on Homey Pro as well? What should I do?
