Also, if your Homey uses WiFi, consider buying an ethernet adapter, since Homey’s WiFi is not very stable. And, as always, make sure both your FP2 and Homey have a fixed IP address.
Hello!
Thanks for your help so far, but…
I’m still struggling with FP2. Probably because of the error I just noticed, I struggled so much to see Homey using the HomeKit Controller, because the sensor does the following.
I successfully add it to the Aqara App on my phone and monitor my movement on the zone map. It continuously shows my real movement for about 5-10 seconds and then freezes. It also happened that I disappear from the map, but also that I appear in another copy (as a second person) after about 10 seconds. Then it works “normally” again for about 5-10 seconds and this keeps repeating itself. It is interesting that when I don’t see it on the map, when I ping the device it responds. I removed it, from the app and reset it, then added it again, the same situation. Is the sensor bad? My wifi is stable, the field strength is good (Ubiquiti) Any idea?
Struggling a bit here as well, probably because I had a lot of HomeKit stuff.
So here is what I did:
Initiate Installation: Begin by installing the device using the Aqara app.
Add to HomeKit: Next, add the device to HomeKit on your iPhone.
Configure Zones: Set up the zones as required.
Remove from HomeKit: Then, remove the device from HomeKit.**
Unplug the Device: After that, unplug the device.
Start ‘Add HomeKit IP’ Process: Begin the ‘Add HomeKit IP’ procedure in the HomeKit Controller app on Home.
Wait for Image in App: When the image shows up in the HomeKit Controller app, proceed to the next step.
Plug in FP2 and Press Install: Plug in the FP2. Press the install button in the HomeKit Controller app when the FP2 flashes yellow (Note: This seems to happen only after a reset, not a reboot).
Troubleshooting: This is where I encounter an issue, as the sensor doesn’t connect. Both devices are on the same network with static IP addresses.
Update
Thanks to @Thilo I tried again, this time I added a new Apple Homekit on my phone, configured the sensor and then removed it from the Apple Homekit - et voila, it’s working!
Thanks, that’s the strange bit - I don’t have any devices in the Home app from Apple anymore.
Will try again after making sure I’ve deleted all apple ‘home’’s from all devices.
I had setup three of the FP2s in my home. They KINDA worked. The software was pretty cool…but the poor response time and errors were too much to work with. I returned all three and am trying to accomplish what I wanted to do with the FP2s via motion sensors.
I have had pretty good luck with the Hue sensors…Now…if only the less expensive Aqara motion sensors would be a little more reliable, eh?
Anyway…is the move to WIFI for the new sensors an advantage?
Everything will have pros and cons. The Matter standard will also help with getting most stuff working.
As for Wifi, that’s probably needed for more advanced functionality. For the simple stuff I personally prefer Zigbee or Zwave.
On-topic: I’m glad to report that the Aqara is working - what a nifty little sensor!
If the app is running right now, can you pull the power on the FP2 and wait a few seconds and power back on .
I do not see a service up coming from the FP2, so app uses previous adres, might be just an issue of waiting a little longer until it is detected on the network
Ty Martin,
It did help in the sense it started to show occupied again… however then it does nothing, its stuck at showing same zone occupied. It will not change zone, or turn them off.
I’m not sure if this is right or not or even if this is the correct place to post this. I tried dealing with the device properties without success.
I’m trying to turn on the light when someone is present and the light level is below x. So WHEN presence is detected AND luminance is below x, THEN turn on the light
With my Fp2 sensor i have only one card in the AND section,it’s strange because when i installed the sensor 1-2 months ago i had in the AND section the card "if someone is in the{zone/room} "but it disappears since
