[APP][Pro] Xiaomi Miija (Temperature and Humidity)

I have very good experience with the ZigBee ones supported by this app.

Do you have a link ore maybe artikel number?

Xiaomi Mijia (LYWSD03MMC)

Hi, After the last update (1.2.13) all my BT LYWSD03MMC ATC device stop updating. Any similar issue for other?

Having look, thanks for reports.

Also ā€œanother userā€, who submitted log, for some reason things I speak Russian - please do not sent me logs like this.

Hi! I’m experiencing the same issue: since the app updated to version 1.2.13 yesterday, Homey has stopped receiving new data from LYWSD03MMC (BLE).

Please install this version and ideally submit logs even if you see the issue has been fixed.

Btw, you are on Homey 2023 and you have 9 sensors via BLE? Do you connect your Homey via WiFi or Ethernet ? I just wonder what is the reason for some people BLE works and for some others it does not…

Sensors alive again, thank you :beers:! I have 8 sensors connected over this app via BLE, and my Homey Pro 23 connected over Ethernet to the network. I sent you the report.

Thank you, the update resolved the issue. I have a Homey Pro 2019 connected via Wi-Fi and 4 BLE sensors. I just sent the report.

I noticed that when the battery runs low or is removed, the sensor’s firmware settings often reset. As a result, you have to reconnect to the sensor via Telink Flasher to manually change the data format from ā€œPVVX (custom)ā€ to ā€œATC1441.ā€

This issue mainly concerns the sensors themselves, but it raises the question: is it possible to completely eliminate such inconveniences related to their initial flashing and fine-tuning and integrate this process directly into the Homey app? This would make the experience much smoother and lower the entry barrier for new users.

Also, thank you so much for the current app; it’s truly valuable

Do you use the latest firmware ?

Well, any reason you do not use ZigBee firmware? I didn’t experienced any such issues myself.

Homey’s BLE is limited and notoriously unstable, so even if it were possible I wouldn’t implement it, there’s just too much chance of the flashing failing, and then it’s the Homey app developer’s fault.

Still I’m not sure it’s wide spread issue, that would be worth to implement it ?

Re BLE instability, I start to be suspicious that there are some Homeys 2023, where BLE works absolutely fine and some, where BLE sucks. Athom is silent on that yet also majority of users, so I suspect that there are more people which are actually happy with BLE. That was the reason also to take over this app to deep dive - for myself, those sensors works ONLY from distance of approx. 2 meters. Those guys here have eg 9 of those sensors and never complained so far and I don’t believe they would have all sensors located 2m away  …so something is stinking here, yet again, like eMMC ā€œstoryā€. But, I’m sure will get through this … right @Doekse :+1:

It’s certainly the first I hear about it, but I converted all my sensors to Zigbee a long time ago.

I have these sensors with ATC firmware and homey nearly a year, and working totally fine, no problems with battery or distance (8 sensors in the house, 5-7 meters from homey, multi level, brick walls, etc…), so I’m one of the lucky ones  , for me this was a maintanance free solution until yesterday :upside_down_face:, but thank you again the fast response @Sharkys

Have you experienced any issues with battery drain while using Zigbee? I decided not to use it because I’ve read a lot about batteries draining too quickly with it.

Not really, but I haven’t really paid a lot of attention to it

I don’t have any problems with battery with Zigbee firmware. 7 months and battery dropped from 100% to 40% (however sensor is located indoor with ambient temp. always ~20C)

Yep, lucky you  That was my experience with Homey 2019, so lucky you and what is the difference then, I wonder.

Just for some reference, Zigbee based firmware for LYWSD03MMC modified sensors

All are with the same firmware 3001-1100, Temperature sensor garage is connected to Homey via Zigbee2MQTT, the other two are connected via Homey. I was expecting similar battery curves but for some reason, the curve of Aquarium Zigbee sensor is smoother compared to other two and seems to hold longer … no idea why

Version 1.2.16 — Support added for LYWSD02MMC and LYWSD03MMC with standard firmware.

Unfortunately latest LYWSD03MMC have patched firmware by default, which makes flashing ATC firmware much harder. More on this issue - Xiaomi has released new 2.1.1 firmware Ā· Issue #298 Ā· atc1441/ATC_MiThermometer Ā· GitHub
