So I assume you created a diag. log from the app ? If so, I did not receive anything.
sorry for the delay. I did it right now.
thanks agains for your timely replay.
All best!
Hello again,
Iâve now received a response from Homey support regarding my issue.
Homey Support replied:
"Thank you for reaching out to our support, and Iâm sorry to hear youâre experiencing issues with this app.
Unfortunately, this issue concerns an app that is not developed by us, but by one of our valued community developers. You can contact the developer of this app via the Homey App Store. Please reach out to them so they are aware of the issue youâve reported.
In the Homey App Store, at the bottom of the appâs page under the âSupportâ section, you can find details on how to contact the developer directly.
If the developer has chosen not to provide direct support, we recommend visiting the Homey Community Forum to check if other users are experiencing similar issues. You can also start a new topic there if you donât find any related reports.
If you have any issues regarding the Homey software or the Homey mobile/web app, feel free to contact us again."
Please contact support again, provide system diag after installing the app - as I mentioned, no developer can influence anyhow the way Homey app store installs the app - I can specify the compatibility prior to the installation, but you do have compatible firmware version. THEN - when the app is initialized, then developer is responsible from that part on. But NOTHING in between, from when you press INSTALL until the app runs, can be influence by the developer.
Also, recently there were multiple issues with apps being or not being installed during different occasion, I believe you might be one of them.
btw seems others users do have same issue on other app
Hi,
MAy i ask what device you choose to add it in the mi home app? tried them all but cant read properties i get all the time. I have the x20 max
Btw @Jan-Thomas_Borresen , I addressed this issue again to Athom - can you confirm you can install it now or itâs still the same ?
Hi Sharkys,
After we spoke on Friday, I contacted Homey support. They responded the same day, and we had a short dialogue.
They asked for the Diagnostic Report ID you referred to, and they also requested a video showing what happens when I try to install the app and the error message that appears. In addition, they asked some standard questions, like whether Iâm able to install other apps (which I can, without any problems), and they suggested I try installing the Xiaomi app both from the web and directly from the Homey app (which of course didnât work).
The last question they asked was:
âIs the app already installed now but not working? If so, could you please try to update the app. Does that solve the issue?â
I replied:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the app is installed (version 3.3.0), and itâs working with the devices already linked to it. However, it wonât update, and if I delete the app, Iâm unable to reinstall itâI only get a timeout error.
I need to get the app updated because I have some new devices I want to integrate with Homey, but theyâre only supported in the latest app version.
After that, I havenât heard anything more.
Over the weekend, I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it both from the web and directly via Homey.
Web error: timeout
Homey error: Network request failed
I also tried disabling the firewall on both my PC and router, and even connected Homey directly to the modem to rule out any network-related issues on my side.
I then attempted to install the app manually using the JSON and source code. Iâm not very familiar with JSON, so after a few hours of trial and error, I managed to get the app installedâbut it crashed immediately and didnât work at all.
In the end, I had to reset my Homey and restore from backup. So now Iâm back to app version 3.3.0.
Hmm, very long story but at least they have reached to you asking for details.
As for CLI install, I canât really recommend it for this integration, as itâs using obsolete libraries which were abandoned and require some additional modification during installation, unfortunately. So itâs not straight forward I hope that Athom developers will figure out soon, however it seems itâs concerning only about 2% of user baseâŠ
Yeah, it turned into quite a storyâeven though I tried to keep it as short as possibleđ
I definitely noticed the CLI method wasnât very straightforward⊠took me quite a bit of frustration just to get it running, and even then it crashed right awayđ
Letâs hope Athom figures it out soon. Even if itâs just 2% affected, itâs still frustrating when youâre one of them.
By the way, would it be possible for you to add support for the Xiaomi Smart Pet Fountain 2?
how do i get the token out of my roborock s7? i need this to connect it to the Homey.
i read all kinds of difficult methods, but these are often already quite outdated.
i use the Xiaomi MI Home app for the roborock
Probably the simplest method so far - GitHub - PiotrMachowski/Xiaomi-cloud-tokens-extractor: This tool/script retrieves tokens for all devices connected to Xiaomi cloud and encryption keys for BLE devices.
Hello again,
Here is a quick update.
Yesterday, I encountered a new issue after installing the Shelly appâa ânetwork request failedâ error appeared in the Homey web app.
I believe I have finally identified the root cause.
I was using an Ethernet adapter with Homey. After reviewing several forum threads, I found multiple reports of issues potentially related to both the Ethernet adapter and the original power adapter.
Hereâs what I did:
-
I disconnected the Ethernet adapter from Homey, unplugged the original power adapter from the Ethernet adapter (as power flows through it), and then connected Homey directly to the same power adapter.
-
I connected Homey to Wi-Fiâand immediately, the Xiaomi app downloaded successfully, and the Shelly app began working again.
Iâve reported this issue to Homey support, as the product is still under warranty.
Hello, is it possible to connect the camera I have in Xiaomi Home to Homey? Thanx
