It currently lets me see when it’s unlocked and locked, so they are talking. I just need it to actually function as a lock.

Hi. I’m trying to connect my Honeywell Thermostat T6. It unfortunately auto-generates PIN and I think there is a problem in HomeKit Controller app, because:

Native Apple TV connection steps:

  • reset Homekit configuration on thermostat (only once if it was previously set)
  • open Apple Home
  • add new accessory → more options
  • thermostat found
  • screen to enter PIN shows in Apple Home app + the code displays on the thermostat
  • enter the pin from thermostat display
  • all good

HomeKit Controller app:

  • reset Homekit configuration on thermostat (only once if it was previously set)
  • open Homey
  • add new device through homekit controller
  • thermostat found
  • screen to enter PIN shows in Homekit Controller, but the code doesn’t display on the thermostat
  • if I enter random PIN and click OK, the correct PIN temporarily displays on the thermostat (1-2 seconds), homekit controller displays error and the PIN from thermostat disappears. The main problem is, that the PIN on the thermostat is auto-generated on each pairing, so even if I manage to write it down in that short time, it wouldn’t work for the next attempt

I’ve also tried to bring up the pairing in Apple Home up, so that the PIN would show, but there is no way to get out of the the app while pairing is in progress.

It seems, like there is some (potentially new) extra step in the pairing mode or that some initial step in the pairing process needs to happen before I enter the PIN and click OK. Any advice @Martin_Verbeek ?

Correct, there is no logic currently in the app for this kind of pairing. Need to plan for some time to check into that

Could you please tell me how you exactly solved the “30000ms timeout” issue? I also started to have the same issue. Restarting, resetting apps, FP2 sensor etc. did not help.

Update 08.03.25: Nevermind, I solved it myself by changing the IP address

@Martin_Verbeek is it possible to add face recognition for the Aqara doorbell G4, to be able to trigger flows (e.g. unlock door, disarm alarm, etc. ) when face detected? Or is this a limitation in the “Homekit capabilities” of the device?

It does not pass it as an event in the Homekit spec. I think Apple pulls the faces from the video and compares.

You can use the Face++ app, and send snapshots to it. Face++ App for Homey | Homey Not using it myself, but might work for you.

Not sure it’s anything you can fix / look at as I know Sky tend to run fairly closed systems but on the off chance you see a setting / adjustment I can make.

If the fp1e is an accessory connected to the aqara hub, then the hub probably needs to be paired as a homekit bridge. After that the connected accessories can be found.

Yes, first I have added the prensence sensor FP1E to my Aqara hub camera g3 using Aqara app from my iPhone, then I have linked Aqara system to Apple HomeKit, but after set up the bridge from Aqara hub on my Apple home, when I try to find the FP1E using honey pro HomeKit controller app nothing is found… what I am doing wrong?please help.

It is the G3 Hub that you need to pair with Homekit Controller app (if possible), that is the bridge to the fp1e. After the G3 is added, then you will be able to find the fp1e.

the fp1e is not a homekit device on its own.
