[APP] IKEA Home Smart - Create the right atmosphere for every mood - fka IKEA Trådfri (by Athom)

Hi,

3.4.2026 was released version of 2.10.0 Ikea smart home app with Added Matter drivers for GRILPLATS and TOFSMYGGA outlets, and VARMBLIXT lamp.

I got two plugs of GRILLPLATS I tried to pair them with ikea app but unsuccessfully. It is matter device (should be supported since 2.10.0 ikea smart home), I have more ikea matter devices working with my homey pro, but I can’t pair this…

Thank you

Kamil

You’re not the only one. Pls. check the IKEA Home Smart topic:

The only option is to report this issue to Athom, since they are responsible for the Matter integration and the IKEA Homey Smart app.

Edit
Here’s another thread with over 50 posts about the IKEA Grillplatsa:

I was having issues connecting the GRILLPLATS and MYGGSPRAY to homey, it would add the device but fail connecting via matter after. I am using an Eero network and once I disabled the thread network in the Eero app, I had no issues connecting these devices to Homey.

Hope this helps someone.

I know that those devices can be connected also with BT or Wireless network (this aero app is probably using). But I bought those thread/matter plugs to extend my network (because my batteries thread/matter devices are far away). So I need to wait till someone who is maintainer of this package will fix it.

Thanks

Kamil

Hello, any help on how to connect the BILRESA double button to Homey, please? It always gets stuck on “reading device data”. Thanks in advance.

I have a Homey Pro (2026) and want to control my IKEA Trådfri drivers through Homey, while still being able to operate them directly with RODRET dimmers if Homey is unavailable. Is this setup possible?

Right now, I can pair the drivers with Homey without any issues. However, once I pair a RODRET dimmer directly to a driver, I lose control of that driver in the Homey app.

AFAIK no.

I tried to accomplish the same a few times and by Googling found out that only one controller/device is possible if I understand it correctly.

Homey lacks the proper Zigbee functionality to make this work.

But possible with other hub (HA or others)?

HW/Chipset limitations in Homey or just software?

Yes.

Athom hasn’t implemented support for Zigbee bindings in their software.

You can try what’s documented here: https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/360015669840-Controlling-a-Zigbee-device-with-a-Zigbee-remote-directly

But from what I know, it hardly ever works.

I think Robert it’s already there in the latest firmwares, Zigbee developer section… at least I was able to delete some of the Zigbee local bindings I even didn’t know existed before. Or do you mean something else maybe and I missed the point?

Can you create bindings as well? I don’t use Zigbee on Homey (for obvious reasons  ) so I missed that feature.

Yep, newly there is popup :
popup

In that case: @AMG, @Jocke_Wallen you should be able to create bindings between the remote and the lights.

TY, I’ll try that in my “sandbox-zone” (my private playground zone).

Creating bindings did the trick. Thank you.

Edit: Almost everything works: I can turn the lights on/off and adjust the dim level using both the app and the remote. However, the app does not update the state when the remote is used.
