Am on vacation, HP ‘23 reportedly glowing red

I’m currently away for a couple of weeks. An elderly couple is taking care of the house and the animals. They contacted me because the automatic lights etc stopped working suddenly. I managed to reroute some lights to a single Philips Hue switch with the Hue app, but all my sensors and irrigation system are down. It seems the Homey ’glowing red’. I don’t know what that means. They disconnected it for a while and reconnected it, but that did not change things. I read somewhere it could be a power thing, but the HP gets its power from a strong usb-c adaptor, that can’t be it.
Anyone any idea what is going on?

“Breathing red” means Homey crashed and will restart automatically. If it keeps happening, the page suggests reinstalling the firmware (which needs to be done locally).

Why it’s crashing is anyone’s guess, Homey is (literally) a black box without any accessible logs that might provide a clue.
