Probably a reboot or PTP ‘solves’ it… and is it possible to add Matter devices again?
This might be related:
Tried a reboot: no new devices
Tried a PTP: no new devices
So for now the advice: do not remove matter devices that were added via the hue bridge…
Hello,
I’m trying to add my bridge to Homey with Matter. I can get the code from Philips Hue without any problem but when trying to connect it to Homey nothing is found.
Tried already through Homey Pro, through the phone but I can’t find the bridge. Is there a way to put the bridge in “pairing mode” or what am I missing?
Thanks in advance!
Okay, you don’t share any detail
- Can you pair any Matter devices to the Hue hub?
- Which steps of this howto did you take? Which one(s) didn’t work?
Add Philips Hue devices using Matter, not working - #74 by Rrrr - “the phone”: Iphone or Android (if applicable)?
- “Homey Pro”: Do you mean Homey Pro 2023? (= the only Homey model with Matter support)
- If 3) = yes, is the firmware v10.3.0 or up?
Are Homey and your Hue bridge in the same network?
- I don’t know. My main goal was to connect the bridge to Homey to increase the speed. I don’t have another Matter device to test it.
- It’s step 5 that isn’t working. The hue bridge is not detected by Homey. All other steps were done.
- I tried with Android and Iphone, no difference.
- Yes, it’s Homey Pro 2023 and firmware is 10.3.1
Philips Hue app and bridge have the latest updates.
The bridge is connected straight to the modem. Homey Pro is connected to a Wifi router that is connected to the same modem. Could this be the issue?
No, that sounds right. Do you know the IP-addresses of your Hue bridge and your Homey? Are they in the same network segment?
Not sure what a segment is.
The IP addresses are:
Hue Bridge: 192.168.0.xxx
Homey Pro: 192.168.68.xx
That looks like they are on different segments/subnets, which explains why Homey cannot see the bridge. This is ultimately a local networking issue that needs to be solved.
Thanks! I will try this evening to connect them to the same segment and see if it works.
Once the connection is established, I could put them back in the actual setup right?
Update: I changed the configuration between modem and router and connected devices and it indeed worked smoothly (bridge was found directly). Thank you Robert!
I doubt it
It seems for the moment Matter between Philips Hue and Homey Pro 23 is not working correct, unable to create this connection.
What is not working and what are the steps that you are taking to add a Hue Matter device to Homey? BTW, here everything is working fine since I added the device ages ago.
Today I retry it, right now working.
About steps, just het number from Hue and copy into HP23 to create Matter connection.
I will look some days to see if there are any changes, when all okay, I will change my flows.
The problem is a device card with red cross, with removed or resetten information.
I will retry Aqara M2 as well…
Thanks for your message
Adding a device to HUE
The new device is not working and the previous device is kicked out
Removed Matter connection and build up again
All is working, as long as there is no change.
What do you mean with “The new device is not working and the previous device is kicked out”?
How are you proceeding? You put your Hue Bridge on Matter (Smart Home), then you add your Hue Matter Hub to Homey through the Homey Matter functionality (Connect via Homey Pro, not iOS) and enter the Matter code? To obtain Matter Code: Settings, Smart Home, Matter, Link to another app, copy the code. Please elaborate on the steps that your are using to be sure to get the whole picture. Did you remove the Hue app form your Homey? Is your Homey on the same IP subnet as the Hue Bridge(s)?
Making the Matter connection as described, and as only possible.
Than add a new device to the HUE bridge. And than in Homey the new added item to HUE do not work and the last one added is not working as well
Removing the Matter connection and creating fix the problem, till I add a new device to the HUE bridge
“And than in Homey the new added item to HUE does not work” Sure it is not a HUE device but a Matter device from Homey’s perspective.
You are not adding the device to the HUE app in your Homey , do you? Did you delete the HUE app in Homey to avoid double devices? I must admit I don’t see very clear in this. If I re-read your messages: I think you are trying to explain that when you add a new device on the HUE bridge (which is on Matter), the new device doesn’t show up in Homey as a new (working) Matter device, correct?
As you can see in my screenshots, it shows up in Homey, but with a red cross, and message reset or removed .
The last device on the HUE bridge is also reacting in the same way.
Ofcourse I do not add anything that moment on the Homey app
