Something that I have been fearing happened. Matter connection to Hue Bridge stopped working a few hours ago.
There is no button to try to repair the Matter connection. Also I can’t see any sensible error message anywhere except timeout when trying to use the devices in Hue. Is there anything I can do? Except reset the whole thing and fix all the flows after that. That would be a big effort.
I guess I could log a support ticket, but that is pretty much useless as tickets seem to wait a couple of weeks before Athom pick them up and I just cant wait two weeks to get this resolved.
Have you restarted Homey?
I have 30 matter/thread lamps that sometimes loose their connection and a restart solves the issue. But I don’t know if it’s the same with HUE bridge.
I’ve the same issue since 1 hour. Matter integration to Hue bridge stopped working and I can not control the lights in all rooms anymore. I restarted the bridge and homey. Doesn’t matter with matter
After upgrading my AppleTVs to tvOS 18.2 and rebooting Homey again, the matter devices can be controlled again.
Yesterday iOS 18.2 and tvOS 18.2 were released by Apple. My iPhone and iPads were updated directly, but my matter border routers not. As I know, all devices has to run the same version to prevent HomeKit issues. Maybe the same happen with Matter on Apple devices. Strange behaviour.
And I rebootet Homey and Huebridge before updating my AppleTVs without success. Matter devices are available again only after updating the border routers.
Homey should really really integrate a debugging solution for thread and matter in the developer site like for Zwave and Zigbee!
Ok, you seem to have a bit different setup. I connected Homey directly to Hue Bridge through Matter. How did you exactly route it through Apple? Do you have the AppleTV controlling your HomeKit?
I have no idea how to make the Matter work again. I reverted all devices back to the Philips Hue app. Couple of hours spent on that. I guess I will keep the non-working Matter connection there and let support take a look.
I just noticed that in the next Homey release 12.3.0 they have this: “Fixes an issue where devices would lose connection in large Matter networks.” I have no idea if my network with 44 Matter devices from Hue is big or not. But maybe this was caused by that Homey bug.
I just did som cable tiding in the technical room, and had to unplug the power for both homey and the hue hub, after the systems restarted, the matter link was broken
Just a note for the record that I restarted both Homey and Hue Bridge and that didn’t help. Waiting for the support to answer my request. Let’s see if their answer is just that “remove the Matter node and pair again”…
I have the same problem. My matter connection between Homey and Hue bridge is broken. Restarting both devices did not help. Resetting hue bridge makes me feel sick just to think about newly setting everything. Worth noting I enabled developer RC firmware coz i wanted to try new energy tab.
I don’t know if this is related but my Philips Hue app in Homey is crashing like 10 times a day. I thought perhaps something has changed in the Hue Bridge firmware, but according to the changelog there hasnt been any new Hue Bridge firmware updates lately.
Was able to find someone who had connected Hue Bridge to HomeKit habing issues just not as well. I wonder if there is actually something wrong at the Philips side.
Oh wow. Just tried to establish a new Matter connection from Hue app. It says “Matter is not available right now. Please try again later”. I think this starts to look like a Hue problem.
Hi all, anybody solved issue? Still no connection between Hue and Homey via matter. Power cycled both couple times, no reaction between. Not keen to reinstall all lights though thx
No. I got an answer surprisingly quick from Athom and their advice was not surprisingly to cut the connection and pair the Matter connection again. Which is what I now might actually do since I moved all the logic already to Philips Hue app devices making Matter irrelevant right now.
Today I run into this issue again. Checked it twice: Hue Bridge is directly connected to my Homey Pro using matter. I’d restarted the Homey, after that the Hue Bridge. Some minutes later I was able to control matter devices again.
The matter devices are not shown as disconnected (small red sign on device, which is shown on other devices). When I try to switch on/off some hue light, it runs into an timeout. But I can control the devices directly in the Hue app on my iPhone.
