The new Philips Hue Bridge

I changed to the new hue bridge pro. Only a third party light i had to add manualy.

However in mij homey the change to the new bridge was not done. All the devices where stil connected to the old bridge. I had to remove the app and reinstall again add everything and moved everything to the righr room. When remote the app alse removes the old devices. In fact the homey app should have asked to move every device to the new bridge and not error connecting. “SMART HOME”

Any news on when MotionAware will be available in Homey? It has been 42 days since your “soon” remark

Really soon™

Currently working on some last bugs, so keep an eye on the changelog

The Hue app has been updated with functionality to move other bridges to the bridge Pro. Has anyone already tested to move an existing bridge to an existing bridge pro? Will the homey hue app also move the devices to the existing bridge pro? Like it did with the move to a new bridge pro?

Same hesitation on my end. Too many devices are on the second bridge to re-add them all manually if it shouldn’t work. An official statement from the app creators would be perfect.

I moved to hue pro bridge today, having multiple issue, one in this picture adding Motion Ware, but i dont have 1000 devices

to answer my own question: no.

  1. disabled hue app in homey
  2. migrated second bridge to pro
  3. not all devices were migrated (mainly sensors )
  4. enabled hue app in homey
  5. all devices from old brigde were unavailable :frowning:
  6. added them from pro bridge, removed the unavailable ones
  7. repaired all flows

I tried to migrate my 2 old bridges from Hue bridge to Hue bridge Pro. None of my lights and sensors are available in the homey app now :frowning:
It just says “Device not available” “Searching for hue bridge” the in Homey app. When I try to push the “Check for bridge migration“ button it fails and says “This device is not available at the moment“.

I’ve tried to restart the Homey Hue App, Homey Pro and Philips Hue Bridge

Worst decision ever to migrate from 2 well functioning bridges to 1. But I guess on the positive side I get to review and set up flows all over again :stuck_out_tongue:

Any ideas on how to find the new bridge after migration?

I migrated 2 Hue Bridges to Hue Bridge Pro yesterday, but unfortunately didn’t think about doing anything with HomeyPro until after I had finished and removed the old Hue Bridges.

In short: I now have the Hue lights in HomeyPro (after working through installation timeouts), but am stuck for how to get the switches & sensors updated. Any hints or tips?

UPDATE: never mind, I was missing the obvious. Sorry. In HomeyPro > Devices > + add device, hue, dimmer switch … and it found and added them all. I had to repeat the process for device types: Dimmer Switch 1, Dimmer Switch 2, Motion Sensor. Job done.

I tried for a while to get HomeyPro Philips Hue app to detect the migration and update to the new Bridge Pro, but didn’t succeed. I tried “repair” on some of the Hue devices in HomeyPro > Devices, but that couldn’t find a bridge. I tried restarting the HomeyPro Philips Hue app, and also the Hue Bridge Pro, but that didn’t help. (I believe I did the “Check for Bridge Migration” on the Devices > (device) > settings, but my notes have let me down … it is possible that I missed this)

In the end I reinstalled the HomeyPro Philips Hue app like this:

  • Uninstalled Philips Hue app on HomeyPro
  • Power-cycled both Hue Bridge and HomeyPro
  • Re-installed Philips Hue app on HomeyPro
  • In HomeyPro Philips Hue mobile app, devices, +, add Philips Hue device
    • I suspect any Hue device would probably have done; I picked a light.
  • Flood of error popup dialogs “Timeout after 10000ms” (on mobile Homey app)
    • It seems there was a 10 second time limit, which wasn’t enough for my system
    • (I currently have 77 Hue lights, 23 switches and 2 sensors)
  • OK’d through all of the timeout pop-ups, and it did seem that the Hue Bridge Pro had been added, with many (possibly all) of the lights, but none of the switches or sensors
  • Power-cycled both the Hue Bridge Pro and HomeyPro again
  • I am still in the same situation, with many (possibly all) of the lights, but none of the switches or sensors

I can see the switches & sensors both in the Philips Hue normal standalone mobile app.

(and for interest I also queried them using the Hue API from command line, mainly just to count the number of devices)

But I am currently stuck for how to get the switches & sensors recognised/synced into HomeyPro Philips Hue app and device list.

I haven’t yet tried another uninstall/re-install of the HomeyPro Philips Hue app … since I assume that will hit the same 10 second timeout problem again. If I see any relevant sounding app updates I guess I would try again.

Versions:

Homey Pro (Early 2023); Version: 12.10.0

  • Philips Hue app: v7.3.2

Philips Hue Bridge Pro; Model ID: BSB003

  • Software version: 1.74.2071153010

Just got the bridge pro and motionaware is a “device” I can add, but it doesn’t work. Is this expected until a new update? Thank you!

How do you update the app? How do i get the beta?

"Hello, could you please help me?

I’ve read a lot on this forum, but I can’t get it to work. I migrated my two old bridges to the Hue Bridge Pro using the Hue app, but my Homey Pro 2023 didn’t update accordingly.

I have already tried restarting both the app and the Homey itself. After that, I added the Hue Pro as a new device in Homey, but now it has added all the lamps again as duplicates. The original ones are showing a red triangle. Has anyone dealt with this before?"

I wish i did read everything first. I dit migrate everything in the hue app. Than offcourse everything was red triangle in Homey. Added the new pro bridge and now i have everything double and the old ones stil have the red traingle. Any tips how to fix this?

Deleting the old ones manually or just delete the Hue app (which also deletes all related devices) and install the new pro bridge again.

Offcourse…. But i hoped that was not the case… 122 devices…

Yeah, I know the feeling. After adding the pro bridge and deleting the old lamps, I noticed there was a specific repair option for lights that had been moved from the 'old’ bridge to the pro. But sadly too late to test at that point…

I also noticed too late, but I only had six devices so it wasn’t too painful

I’ve definitely noticed a increase in response times for my two Hue motion sensors since migrating.

I migrated to the Hue Bridge Pro today. However, I migrated from one bridge, not two different ones. Everything went incredibly smoothly. First, I migrated the bridge itself as usual in the Hue app, then manually connected a few third-party lights. They weren’t actually removed; I was able to reconnect them by resetting them. All the lights and scenes transferred perfectly. Then I switched to Homey: Here, too, I only needed to go to one of the devices and start the migration under “Repair.” Everything was transferred within seconds. I was also able to add the new MotionAware zones – perfect! Many thanks to the team; this is how it should be!

But do they MotionAware zones work? For me, they haven’t been updated since I added them.
