Oh, ok…no big deal, such a plugg can always be used ![]()
Is there any step-by-step guide on how to replace the old Hue Bridge (v2) with the new one on Homey Pro (2023)?
In a couple of days, I’m expecting the new Pro Bridge, and honestly, I’m a bit nervous about making the switch.
Does anyone know if Homey Pro is already fully compatible with the new Hue Bridge, or not yet?
Should I start the migration from the iOS Hue app first, and then reconnect everything in Homey afterwards?
I read that, during migration, the old bridge must be deleted from the iOS Hue app — what should I do about that part in Homey?
Thanks in advance!
What I did:
- make sure Homey’s Hue app is > 7.1.6
- disable Homey’s Hue app within iOS app Homey
- Add new bridge to iOS Hue app
- Do migration steps within iOS Hue app
- Do all manual migration steps within iOS Hue app
- Enable Homey’s Hue app within iOS app Homey
- Homey will say that new bridge is detected and all objects are moved
- Reboot Homey
- Check all flows for Hue Scene and Hue Room and correct them to the new bridge, save the flows
Oh thank you. I hope will work ![]()

Bei mir funktionieren die Osram Stecker ohne Probleme an der Hue Pro Bridge.
Ich habe mehrere in Betrieb.
Just followed your steps and everything was up and running within one hour
reselecting all scenes and rooms was quite a lot, but took only a couple of minutes, since the names are still predefined. So you just have to select it again.
Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me with the Hue Bridge Pro upgrade:
I waited to get it and do the upgrade until it was officially supported but something is not working for me.
I approximately followed @oklie steps, but I didn’t turn off the Hue app from Homey during the upgrade, also because from @Niels_de_Jong or @Leen_Struuk posts, Homey seemed to take care of the whole migration by itself.
At the moment all my hue lights have the red alert icon, and of course, they don’t work. I did disable and restart the Hue app as well as Homey itself a couple of times but with no success.
A few notes:
-
When I restart the app, the lights show the correct status for a few seconds, then immediately turn to “not available” (screenshots attached)
-
Tapping on any light gives the error: “Authentication Token Expired”
-
I am running an Homey from 2019, Hue App is 7.1.9
I can reinstall everything from scratch if needed, but I’d really appreciate any tips on fixing this without the need of starting over.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Ale
Will the Hue dimmer switch also be supported? Since I switched to the new Hue Bridge pro, these remotes won’t work anymore through Homey. It seems they are not yet supported, as the motion sensors?
Cool. Just to be sure: does it also track when you push a button? Because I can see the dimmer as you do, but pressing a button is not registered, so the flow is not triggered.
Good to know, thank you
Avoid the new hub then
Auth token expired means something like you’d register or log in again;
Longpress one of the red triangle Hue devices, tap Advanced > tap Try to repair
Hey @Peter_Kawa thank you for your message.
I did try something on that line but with no success (Got a different error that I can’t recall now).
In the end I went for reinstalling the whole thing. It wasn’t too bad after all. Only a little bit annoying to fix all the flows.
FYI: For anyone experiencing issues with Bridge Pro:
Any news on the MotionAware integration?
Hi all,
Maybe a dumb question - but does it now work to use the new Pro bridge in Homey? And what should I think about to avoid needing to integrate manually each light etc. And last question - can I use both bridges - not sure what it would add - but to make it more “stable”?
Why not scroll back and read about other people’s experiences? There has been written plenty about the questions you’re asking.

I understand that nowadays, people don’t want to take any effort themselves and just let someone, or something, else do their work for them, but just scrolling back a few posts already yields useful information.
