Tado X smart thermostat

Hi

Trying to connect the Tado X smart thermostat without the Tado bridge. So connected through Matter directly to Homey.

Distance between thermostat and Homey is less than 5 meters in the same room

However it seems to always timeout in the Bluetooth connection screen. Same when using the through iOS feature.

Any idea what could be wrong? Already tried factory reset on the thermostat as well as unplugging Homey for 10 minutes.

Homey’s Bluetooth range is bad, try moving it (much) closer than 5 meters.

Pairing through iOS only works if you already have a non-Homey Thread network.

Just tried multiple time next to each other, both through matter with the Tado app on Homey as well as the native matter app.

Still no success :confused:.

Not sure why but on factory reset attempt 1000 it worked :man_shrugging:.

Hi,

I don’t have much experience with Tado, even with Homey. I’m still a newbie. :smiley:
I recently bought two starterpacks at B*l.com for 159€ (2 heads with Bridge). That was cheaper than buying a Bridge separately with 4 heads… Now I have a spare Bridge, may come in handy one day…

Anyway, connecting them to Homey was easy if you connected them to the Tado app first. Once that is done you can copy the Matter code for each valve from within the Tado app and enter this code into the Homey app. That way the integration went flawless. Each valve took less than 2 minutes to add.

Beautiful little heads, looks professional too with the metal ring. Glad I choose them (at least, so far :upside_down_face: )
