Tado x and Homey pro

I am currently having a Homey Bridge. And I have a tado x thermostat with bridge. I am using the tado app with bridge to use and program my tado thermostat, because I cannot integrate tado in Homey Bridge. Next week I will receive a Home Pro. I intent to program my tado x with advanced flows in combination with other devices such as Zigbee thermometers and my Daikin Airco (for heating). What do you recommend?

  1. Use the tado app within homey and keep the tado bridge?
  2. Completely disconnect the tado x from the tado bridge and tado app, and install it directly as a device on my Homey pro?

Thanks in advance!
Regards, John

Afaik this is not possible, Tado uses LoWPAN which Homey doesn’t support

I think you mean Homey Cloud by “Homey Bridge”. The bridge is not of any use in this case.

The official Homey tado app should work with Homey Cloud, with any tado + tado bridge, because it communicates per cloud (cloud-to-cloud).

In case of Homey Pro, although tado x is Matter enabled, I’d go for tado bridge as well, while Homey Matter is not the most stable protocol.
I"ve used tado + bridge for many years, the cloud side of it was 100% stable.

I certainly would keep the tado phone app active, with a basic heating program enabled.
Homey is a nice gadget, but I don’t trust it with managing my heating system.

Tado X does not work with Homey Bridge (Cloud). I tried. The in-Homey tado app does not see new devices. tado = Matter

The tado° X devices will only work through Matter with Homey Pro. Since the devices support Matter, tado° doesn’t allow free access through their cloud API like they did on the older models. So you’ll will not find them when using the cloud based driver within Homey.

Thank you very much. So: reset the tado thermostat to factory settings, remove tado thermostat and bridge from tado app. Reset the thermostat. Add the thermostat through Matter to Homey Pro. Is that the right way? Thanks in advance.

You should still be able to use the tado° X products with the tado° mobile app when connected through Matter with Homey Pro. I don’t think you need to factory reset them, you can probably share them via Matter Multi Admin.

You could have a look here

But API access is included with Auto Assist, right? So then you might be able to make the devices show up on Homey Cloud only if the user has an Auto Assist subscription. That would still allow Homey Cloud users to add the “X” devices. Or is there another reason why you chose to not make these available for older Homey Pro models and Homey Cloud?

Tado° needs to charge us for us to allow support for the X range, and we don’t pay for API access.
