Stocks widgets not working on mobile device?

I had some stock widgets in the Homey App on my mobile so that I can easily get a snapshot of a bunch of stocks and FX prices.

I added these widgets to the homescreen in the app, below favorite devices, favorite flows, favorite moods and timeline.

At some point in the last few days I noticed those widgets were blank and stock prices were not displayed within the widget.

After waiting a day or two, I tried deleting and recreating the widgets, but it seems that I am unable to add stock tickers within the stock app and keep getting “too many requests” errors.

Any idea how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like an API rate limit.

You might want to contact the developer via the contact details available on the app store page: Stocks | Homey

Or try @Emile directly over here :blush:.

I checked the source code of the app on GitHub and it seems to use the Yahoo Finance API. I couldn’t find any rate limit information about that API, so I don’t know how many requests are allowed. Maybe you have too many widgets added? If you remove a few that you don’t need that might fix it

I have the same issue, I removed it and try to add it again and it says “too many requests” so there’s definitely an issue

I currently don’t have any of these stock widgets because I’m unable to add any stock tickers and save them.

@Emile any ideas?

Have you tried updating the app? Seems like an update was released yesterday

You can update it by clicking the Install button on the app store page
