we want to avoid someone stealing our IP and closing our business. It happens more often than you think.
Reach out to me in support and I will help.
Thank you @Peter_Johansson. I’ll look into it.
Because of the location:-( I get it and understand - maybe consider Azure …
Looking on your device, hopefully there will be some small discount soon
I have fixed the issue that the logic variables are not updated. Please be aware that you have to configure your logic variables as sensor template when you have add them on v2.2.2.
Can you please retest this issue with the latest test build: v2.2.3?
yes 1.18 indeed. cool. also got this P*tin message which I totally agree
it works with the new test app, nice
Yes, 2.2.3 fixed it, thanks!
somehow maybe it was too early , don’t see refresh anymore. lets me use simple capabilities
interesting, restart of the app helps with the stale data.
ok after every change to the template , restart the app.
No. its not working… I can see on homeys webpage that it makes a update and if i do i mouse over i see that its was updated a couple of seconds ago… But the values are the same old not the new one that the device i selected have now. I also saw that the list when i can select other devices to show on the smpl screen is also with onle old values.
I did a new diag… 4f214daa-b95c-4b43-b7af-3d3dcd875524
I have looked into your issue and cannot find anything strange in the diagnostic report you send me. It does not contain a full log.
Can you try the following steps:
- Reboot Homey
- Create a new display layout with one device attribute
- set the display layout
- wait for 5 minutes
- send a diagnostic report
Done, but waited more the 5 min hope that ok…

@Koktail I have found a solution to the problem…
Mine is now working after deleting the app and then reinstall both the app and smpl device.
I think there is something in the change in your code for homey 2023 that dont work well with older configs in the homey if the smpl device were added before the changes were done…
The origin of the issue is the change in HP23 where the device comes with the attribute __id
where the HP16/19 supports the attribute id
.
In v2.2.3 we support both of the attributes. When storing a display layout when this issue was not fixed your display layout configuration was broken.
All good after deleting the device, resetting smpl, and add device again. Now updates as expected.
Must say great work from both you @Koktail and @Nitramevo! It couldnt be easy to find a solution to get this device from the earlier homey platform to the new when the device was developed for the earlier version.
So im much greatful for all the work you all put in to this!
Your kind words are much appreciated. Big thx and have a fantastic weekend!!!
UPDATE: HP2023 x smpl
We now have solid experience with the recent updates that has finally made HP2023 and smpl compatible.
Thank you for all your feedback. And please keep sharing, both issues and successes!
- You need to install the latest Homey experimental firmware (v10.0.0-rc.133) as well as the latest test-version of the smpl Homey app (v2.2.4) to make it work.
- The latest stable firmware version (v10.0.0-rc.122) does NOT work. And the previous test-version of the smpl Homey app (v2.2.2) will prevent data based on logic variables to update on the display.
- The smpl firmware version shown in device capabilities is wrong. The correct version is available from the service screen on the display (3-clicks on the back-button, when your display is paired). The production firmware versions of smpl are v1.18 (order#<2129) and v1.19 (order#>=2129). Both versions are compatible. Only main difference is that v1.19 includes a ‘factory reset’ function (hold the back-button while inserting batteries). Reach out to support if you consider updating (be aware that warranty will no longer apply if you perform this action).
We have no problems with either pairing or updating multiple displays in our two HP2023 test environments in Ukraine and the Netherlands. And the same applies at Athom.
Attached pictures shows multiple displays connected the last couple of days to our HP2023 test environments:
If you still have problems:
- In general:
- HP2023 is still early release (beta) and fw version rc133 is also experimental (beta).
- Pairing:
- The general Zigbee guidelines apply: A) avoid initial pairing in a noisy (zigbee, wifi) environment, B) avoid pairing directly to HP2023 and connect instead via a high quality zigbee router device (plug, light bulb etc.), C) use high quality batteries and make sure they are rather ‘fresh’ when pairing, D) make sure the zigbee network is ‘idle’ (developer tools/zigbee), E) make sure HP2023 and the zigbee network is not too busy, F) make sure HP2023 is well powered.
- It is important that you contact Homey support, as challenges are related to HP2023, your local environment and not smpl.
- Updating:
- Make sure you have the most recent smpl Homey app installed (v2.2.4)
-
- delete the device and make sure it is gone (developer tools/zigbee), 2) delete the smpl Homey app, 3) make a ‘factory reset’ of the display (if you have fw v1.19), 4) make sure your batteries are ‘fresh’, 5) reboot your HP2023, 6) install the most recent version of the smpl Homey app, 7) create a display layout, 8) pair your display again, 9) create a new flow to push data to your display
