I’m so sorry.
I used the trial version, however switching back to the official version, solved the problem
I now receive all my snapshots as desired. Sorry for the confusion, and again, thanks for your amazing work.

Yeah, It wasn’t expected to work, I just added some logging.
I’ll send you a PM with what I’d like to know.
Hi @tequila_sunrise,
Welcome here, great you found Homey and the Ring app!
Let’s first focus on the first 3 cameras that don’t show Live Video. The error shown says “Live video not supported on battery operated cameras” which is a clear indication why the app doesn’t show a live stream, I’ve build this save guard to prevent battery depletion in case a camera is battery operated.
2 things may be wrong here if those cameras are in fact connected to mains power. It’s either not properly configured in the camera, please check that in the Ring app.
Another thing may be that the app isn’t able to determine if the particular device is using mains power, this can happen on newer cameras as Ring seems to keep changes how this is registered in a device.
So, please check the cameras configuration and change it where necessary. If the configuration is correct, please let me know and I’ll give you instructions on how te retrieve some additional information.
Thanks for the quick reply, @DaneedeKruyff.
All the cameras are plugged to the electrical outlets, not battery powered. Their configuration in the Amazon Ring app are also correct.
Please let me know of the steps to retrieve the additional information, I’ll try them out.
Dear @DaneedeKruyff,
Thank you for your work for this app. It is an upgrade compared to the official app.
the last week both my video doorbell and stickup cam dont detect doorbell press or motion. I have the latest RC firmware. Is it related to the latest firmware?
That’s very hard to say. Please see the FAQ when no longer receiving notifications and what to do:
Hi @DaneedeKruyff,
Thank you for making this app, it’s been working great for me, but I have been having issues adding my basestation. I have a Ring Alarm Pro base station (version 1.100.0(4)). When I attempt to add the base station, I briefly see the Ring Authentication window pop up, then it says “No Device Found”. I have verified that the Homey Ring App is already authenticated when I attempt to add the device. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide to help.
Hi Drew,
Welcome here and good to see you found the Ring app and it’s working for you. The Ring Alarm Pro device is an unknown device for me (not available in Netherlands) and from your experience and can conclude it uses a different identifier than the regular Ring Alarm.
I’ll send you a PM later today to see if we can retrieve the needed information.
I’m running a Homey Pro 2026 and the test version of your app (2.14.14). I am in the US.
I followed all the instructions in Ring Doorbell, Camera and Alarm support for Homey - #98 by DaneedeKruyff including re-authenticate.
I can see live views on two cameras. The remaining 6 say ‘Camera is unavailable’.
The two that work are a ring doorbell (wired) and a spotlight cam battery connected to a solar accessory.
Of the 6 that aren’t working, one is a stick up cam battery (fresh battery).
The rest are stickup cam elites and pan-tilt indoor cams. All are plugged in (no batteries).
Let me know if there are any other details I can give you.
Thank you for this app.
Can you please stop and start the app, wait a bit and open one of the cameras that doesn’t work. Next, please send me a Diagnostics Report.
Thanks!

I see two things in the log, you’re using the test version, are you aware of this?
The app sees these cameras:
I see no difference between them in this log, could you tell me which camera is which type and if it works or not. Also, as you can see from this message:
device.js grabImage Error: Motion detection is disabled for Garage, which prevents snapshots from this camera
Please make sure Motion detection is enabled on the cameras.
I am aware of using the test version. If this should work with the other version I will switch it.
These show on homey in a small window which can go full screen. I get audio also
These say camera is unavailable
I’ve just had a look ate the Diagnostics Report on my computer instead of my phone, I see the restart, but actually not that you tried to view a camera.
Con you please try again and tell me whoch camera you tried? Live view on a battery operated camera will never work and motion detection need to be enabled. Also, please include a screenshot where it shows the camera is unavailable, I’m not sure where you’re seeing this.
Hi,
I notice that the Ring Base Station is not updating its status as a device. My alarm has been switched on for over 2 hours now, but in Homey it still shows as switched off.

Thanks!
The Diagnostics Report shows this:
2026-04-18T22:09:49.322Z [log] [ManagerDrivers] [Driver:stickupcam] [Device:652b4eb1-2171-47c8-af38-18ed1ece07ce] _initDevice for Foyer { id: 714020242 }
And a bit later this:
2026-04-18T22:10:01.989Z [log] [Api] grabVideo Called for 714020242
2026-04-18T22:10:01.990Z [log] [Api] Api.js grabVideo Camera is mains powered: false
2026-04-18T22:10:01.990Z [log] [Api] Api.js grabVideo Live video not supported on battery operated cameras
So, your camera is reported as a Battery Operated device. Mind you if this camera was initially setup as a battery operated camera but mains power was connected later it will not reports this until it’s reconfigured, could you please check the camera configuration in the Ring smartphone app.
If the configuration is correct, I will need some more information from your camera, if so let me know and I’ll send you a PM how te retrieve this extra information.
Alarm On/Off, or a selected Surveillance Mode?
Did this work earlier?
Have you made any changes in your configuration?
Please provide some more information.
that camera is a pan and tilt camera. it is powered and always has been. on the chance I installed it wrong I reinstalled it but still doesn’t show the video.
I haven’t been able to find where in the ring app it shows whether a camera is powered or battery operated.
Looks like the ball is in Rings court since it is flagging the cam as battery powered. I’ll contact their support.
I just installed the device, so i cant answer those questions
It happens for all 3 modes: home away and off
