Check out the netatmo weather station.
The weather station connects to homey via the netatmo cloud.
You need to extend the weather station with the rain meter.
Is has flowcards for the rain meter
hello Fkey ,thank you for your answer but I don’t want to buy the Netatmo “weather station” , I just want to buy a rain gauge that can connect to Homey
You can get just a rain sensor from Ecowitt and it’s supported by the excellent Misol and Ecowitt app. You also need a gateway but they’re pretty cheap.
By the way in my experience it’s much easier and more reliable to use a soil moisture sensor instead of a rain gauge for irrigation control. Ecowitt also does those. They’re cheaper, you can have multiple for different areas and they’re supported by the same gateway and app.
The POPP Z-rain is another option that doesn’t require a gateway.
hello Niclas,
this would be a good alternative, but it seems that the manufacturer Popp no longer exists, do you have a confirmation? thank you.
thanks, but I’m looking for a simple rain gauge that connects directly to Homey. If I have to have a gateway for every device I buy for Homey I’m going to go crazy …
Oh, I bought one about a year ago and wasn’t aware it was deprecated.
Regards,
Niclas
I searched for “rain” in the homey App Store and it returned this app which looks like it supports a range of rain gauges directly connected to homey via 433MHz. You’ll need to go searching for a compatible model though.
Do you know the link to the manufacturer’s website? Where did you buy your rain gauge/ thank you
I guess you could google the manufacturer. I bought it from a Swedish web shop, but I noticed they don’t keep it in stock anymore.
I don’t find the manufacturer and the european distributors are out of stock .. strange ???
Hello, thank you for the link but unfortunately my weather station “la cross technologie” doesn’t work with the application, I’ve just tried it, too bad…
Hello, I use the Ecowitt GW2001 Wittboy Weather Station, include GW2000 wi-fi Gateway e WS90 7-in-1 , which I purchased on AliExpress at a super discounted price, and it works great with the Misol and Ecowitt apps. Unlike Netatmo, the station provides feedback every few seconds. I also have Netatmo, but it can take up to half an hour for the rain notification to arrive.
It’s still on a 55% discount on aliexpress
Hello, this is not the same product. If you want to make a comparison, at least use the same code. Anyway, I’m not selling anything; I’m just sharing my personal experience.
Yeah I know you’re not selling anything, I was just hinting on this particular line you wrote:
I only wanted to inform you just to take those unreal discount numbers with a very big grain of salt.
The other well comparable device I showed did not have a discount whatsoever for instance. Just as a comparison on how “discounts” work. It’s all lies.
