Use amount of rain fallen to water garden

I’m going to use a Rain Bird computer ESP-RZXe with wifi-dongle. In the flow I want to create I would like to check if there was any rainfall in my town for an x period of time. I cannot seem to find an app that also gives you the actual rainfall from a location (in the Netherlands). Does someone knows one who does have this functionality?

If not, I will need a weather station to get this information. Does anyone have a suggestion for this?

It’s possible with the Homey OpenWeather App (Link) and the device “Weather, daily summary”.
It’s possible to retrieve data from up to 365 days in the past.

Edit

This is a current screenshot from today, February 18, 2026. However, it shows data from yesterday, February 17, 2026.

If you want a weather station, Misol or Ecowitt do very affordable units.

I can confirm what @Adrian_Rockall said. I have an Ecowitt WittBoy WS90 weather station and am very satisfied with it.

However, a single rain sensor would be sufficient for your purposes, e.g., the WN20, WH40, or WH40H. You will also need a gateway.

Just curious if this one works with Homey as it’s not listed under supported devices?

Thanks.

Yes, that works with the Misol and Ecowitt app. You will need one of the gateways and then just add a Weather Station device and it will find the WS90.
