Possible to use the new Homey Ethernet adapter (offered in combination with the new Homey Pro 2022) with the old Homey Pro ? (2019-2020)

Hi all,

On the homey website the new Homey Pro is now available for pre-order.
There is an optionel extra in the form of an Ethernet Adapter.

Im not ready to replace my old Homey yet but would it be possible to purchase the ethernet adapter only ?

Would it be compitable with my old (2019-2020) Homey Pro ?

No, since it has no usb-c-port.

It would have to be a mini USB adapter then.
However, being able to hook it up doesnt necessarily mean it would work :wink:

I’d think it also needs some software to support that so I highly doubt it would work :slight_smile:

That doesn’t work either. I still had an adapter from another system. I tried it a few months ago. No way !

A Homey Pro 2022 doesn’t Exist, the adapter is for a

Homey Pro (Early 2023)
Homey Pro Ethernet Adapter | Homey Store

Older Homey’s are not 2019 - 2022 (https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/360015447093-Comparing-the-existing-Homey-Pro-models-)
it is either a

  • Early 2016,
  • Early 2018,
  • Early 2019
  • or Pro - Early 2019

There is even Ethernet controller in the HP19, it’s just deactivated…
