Offline mode

I have a million things at home and half of them are smart devices and Homey Pro 2023 is the only thing that’s goes offline. Every day a couple of times.

An any one tell me why?

Bug since 2016.
By tuning your wifi settings you can decrease the “offline” occurrences.
Mostly only the app thinks Homey is offline / can’t reach Homey; that’s why I consider it to be a bug.

To check what’s really happening, install the Net Scan app and have it monitor your router’s IP address. It probably will detect (way) less offline states compared to the number of offline events the Homey app presents to you.

Wifi optimisation hints (goes for Pro 2023 as well):

Thanks @Peter_Kawa. Most of the optimizations I already have. It’s on 2,4 because of this and have set a static ip etc. But can’t make it stable.

Ethernet connection also probed?

Did you check your routers log? Can you use a different one? Out of curiosity what make is the router and how old?

To be honest, all these questions are completely irrelevant.

Homey has had this issue for many years now, and Athom has simply been unable to solve it. In probably 99% of the cases, Homey isn’t even offline, it’s just the Homey apps that are saying it’s offline.

The best course of action is to submit a support request to let Athom know that their software is buggy. I’m sure that support will initially blame it on something else (your internet connection, your router, the current moon phase, whatever) but then they should explain why every other device on the same network is still functioning properly and Homey is the only one that, apparently, isn’t.

Thanks all for taking the time to reply.

It is stupid indeed that Athom can’t solve this issue. None of my other device has this problem only the Homey. I have the Homey Pro 2023.

I just checked the connections on my router and now it seems that Homey has 4 WiFi connections? 4x Athom B.V. And one time the Homey it self.

I know Athom makes a lot of things for other companies but can’t figure out what that are. And Homey is the only one I can think of.

I assume you don’t have an energy dongle or Homey Bridges?

YW.
Additionally, in case you use the ethernet dongle, Homey keeps the wifi connection alive (standard config), but it’s not actively used. This uses 2 IP addresses.

No energy dongle or bridge. Only the Homey

In that case, it’s probably a duplicate entry for your Homey Pro. Does it have fixed IP-addresses assigned to it? If not, it’s probably a good idea.

Yes it’s fixed.
