Is been like this almost every day but only once or twice offline notifications, but today have been not stop the offline notifications. Everything else in the house wifi related has been working fine. The Homey Pro is about 10-14feet away from the Wifi routers. There is great wifi coverage in that area.
Would this mean the internal Wifi chip is bad and is time to get the Ethernet adapter.
As I was looking for the version went Offline again so could not see but it should be the newest one.
Note these are checks from Athom Cloud to Homey.
To determine if it’s an internet or a local network issue, you can install the Net Scan app and monitor your router from Homey.
It goes completely Offline even when I try to use the App is not working as Homey is Offline.
I was not aware Homey is so dependent on the cloud.
I downloaded the App but is not showing up on the flow area to select it.
I do see the App in the Apps setting, so I know it downloaded but not sure why is not showing up in the basic or advance flows. I tried all 3 When, And, Then and is not there.
It’s an old bug as well, hence it’s important to ping your router from Homey, to find out if it really goes offline, or if the Homey app doesn’t know on how to connect.
Another check you can do:
Create a local account, which enables you to use the web app by entering http://homey.ip.address/
.
Just as with most apps, you have to add a new device for it to work.
Plus, most apps have an dedicated app topic, which provide for instructions and/or FAQ and/or troubleshoot sections.
All mentioned on the app page at the homey.app store.
While I was at it, here you go:
(your router can be reached by it’s IP address most probably, without the need to specify a port)
.
It’s a mixture of a bug and cloud dependency in this case.
Homey can run w/o the cloud for a while. And recently controlled locally per web app.
yes, I have 3 total, but only two with the same name.
One in front of the house one by the back and one second floor.
I placed the Homey middle of the House so it could connect to the front or the second floor.
Well good news since I moved it to the front close to the Wifi router so far no Offline notifications.
This morning I got notification it update to 12.13.0 when I check I see V13 is out so I downloaded it.
I was not aware of the local user, just selected my account as local user not sure if that would change anything hopefully not.
I completely forgot to go Add a New device to be able to use the App. It seems I might not need it right away since I moved the Homey closer to the Wifi router so far 0 Offline notifications.
I did a quick test with the Celphone Ip and it working pretty good, is a cool app, would definitely make more flows with it.
