I am architect so I design my house and we live in for 2 years now.
I are very happy with my homey, I use lot of complicated flows for cinema, climate, watering, lightings, alarm, shutters, vocal confirmation or information etc… And many orders via Siri Shortcuts…
All the flow works great but I deal with issues with my sensors: Aqara, Ikea, sonoff, fibaro…
Most of them update their values erratically sometime 2 days later etc.
It’s odd.
My house is 150 sqm and all in wood. I use mostly Zigbee, the homey box is exactly at the center of the house.
Any idea why this problem occur? I have to repair the sensor all the time and oftenly forget so my flows turn up totally down… Should I install Zigbee repeaters and that’s all?
No issue with commands as all the electric board and the house switchers and lightings lines are wired with RJ45, so I use HTTP requests to control everything… It’s very strong.
What kind of Zigbee sensors do you have??
Are the Battery powered??
The problem could be that is you have only battery powered zigbee devices that the zigbee network is not stable for your house. You need to have Repeaters for Zigbee to create a stable network. That you can do with powered zigbee devices…
I have Aqara sensors for temperature and humidity (4 units) ; 1 Fibaro temperature and smoke sensor ; IKEA Lux and motion sensors (7 units) ; Sonoff outdoor temperature and humidity (2 units); Sonoff door sensor (1 unit but working perfectly) ; Eufy camera & temperature sensor (4 units, working almost never…). I plan to purchase Ajax system for alarm (motions 4 units + doors 12 units + 2 cameras/motion sensor)
Hi David, I HD aqara TH sensors and a lot of Ikea routers too. They neverworked well together, device dropping from the network or not updating measurements.
It turned out that when I removed the aqara sensors (4 in. Total) everything worked well again. So I have them for sale now
don’t know what caused the real problem : aqara or IKEA. But since I have 50 ikea devices removing aqara was the way to go.
There are enough problem reports about this combination
Just to double check: is your Homey a puck or a sphere? I assume it is a puck and you have the 2023-model. That supports 32 direct Zigbee connections and many more via Zigbee router devices.
Do I understand correctly that those router devices (the IKEA bulbs) are not paired with your Homey, but to the IKEA DIRIGERA hub? If so, then they are not part of Homey’s own Zigbee network and don’t help extend Homey’s Zigbee-network.
So it could be that the space between your failing sensors and Homey is too large for them to work reliably. In that case, adding one or more router devices (like smart plugs) might help.
It is best to not pair IKEA router devices to your Homey, because there are incompatibilities specifically between Aqara and IKEA devices (you’ll find many reports on that issue on this forum). As @RuuduitdeG was also referring to.
No issue with the bulbs paired via IKEA app via DIRIGERA…
You’re right they don’t help to extend the network…
In that case, adding one or more router devices (like smart plugs) might help.
I have so few here and there.

Not sure to understand, does IKEA and Aqara mess up together ? I could replace my Aqara then… What do you think?
They do sometimes. But only if both are paired to your Homey, which is not the case if I understand you correctly: you paired your IKEA devices with the IKEA DIRIGERA (which you then link to your Homey).
So to double check: you don’t have any IKEA Zigbee router devices (mains powered device like bulbs and plugs) directly paired with your Homey?
Then I should put both bulbs and Ikea sensors on the dirigera separately. And Aqara directly to the homey box. Still have doubt with the sonoff sensors and fibaro…
I don’t think the combination IKEA/Aqara is the problem in this case. That specific situation is when Aqara sensors are routed through IKEA routers. But since your IKEA Zigbee routers are part of a separate Zigbee network (of the KIEA hub), they don’t route your Aqara sensors or the other ones.
Some other thoughts:
As indicated earlier, the distance between your Homey and the sensors might be too great and in between Zigbee routers (paired directly with your Homey) may strengthen the Zigbee network (just don’t use IKEA devices). Adding router devices might help.
Could it be that your IKEA hub uses the same Zigbee channel as your Homey? That would cause interference. In Homey you can check your channel in the Zigbee section of Homey Developer Tools.
No need to add Homey Bridges . Start by adding one (non-IKEA) smart plug to Homey and place it between Homey and (part of) your sensors. It does not matter which, as long as it is supported by Homey. Mains powered devices, like smart plugs, typically act as Zigbee-routers.
Then re-pair the sensors that are now closer to that smart plug. This way you force the sensor to re-establish a route to your Homey. You can do this by opening the sensor’s device tile → Settings → Maintenance → Try to repair. Follow the pairing instructions.
If you find that adding one smart plug helps, then you may consider adding another one at the other side of your house.
Making the change on the IKEA hub might indeed be easier. Though I have no personal experience with that hub. So you might want to check the manual.
If you want to change the channel on Homey then you need to repair all Zigbee devices connected to Homey, as a channel change requires a Zigbee reset on Homey.
I have no experience with StarLink, but I assume it comes with a WiFi-router that can be configured via a web interface or app. Indeed check the manual.
Before you change anything, first check which channels are used by your two hubs and your WiFi to determine whether there is actually an overlap. If there is no overlap, then that is not the cause of your issue.
