Inkbird (engbird app) temperature sensor connecting with Homey

Did somebody already succeed to connect a Inkbird thermometer to the Homey system.
I am looking for a solution for IBS-TH2

This is a bluetooth thermo hygro meter

Looking forward to any news with interest.

Regards,
Steven

No.
There’s no app, and searching the forum only results with “no” as well.

Note, Bluetooth has a max. range of 4, 5 or 6m, which often is not enough.

I’d like to suggest to look for a supported thermo/hygro meter instead.

Or, you can request for support here:
https://request-a-brand.homey.app/

For the moment I will ask for some request

Furthermore I will check alternative’s.

What is range wide a very good temperature sensor with a range of minus 20 till approx 50?

Aqara lumi sensors can handle -20°C to +40°C according to the specs;
I have one laying in the freezer, one above the shower head, one is 60cm above the cooker, and one outside, protected from direct rain. It reported 50°C without issues, in direct sunlight.
I use them for about 3 to 4 years and it’s great gear!
No clue on how exact they measure. The values are as expected.

Thanks, but than has Homey first solve the issues with the Aqara THS before I can use them

There are various compatible temperature/humidity sensors with display.
But the question is, if you want/need a specific protocol?

LCD Temperature and Humidity Sensor (SNZB-02D)
NOUS E6 LCD ZigBee Smart Temperature and Humidity Sensor
– Various devices from Tuya, please visit the dedicated app topic
SwitchBot Meter *1
SwitchBot Meter Plus *1

*1 Acc. the info from the App Store there are BLE and versions available, where a hub is needed. In combination with the SwitchBot Hub 2, they support Matter. Please inform yourself please.

Thanks for your reply.

Only the Switcbot Meter Plus is going below -10.
Tuya sensors I do have to check

SwitchBot IP65 Buiten Binnen Thermometer Hygrometer, 120m Bluetooth Bereik, Koelkast Thermometer, Dauwpunt/VPD/Absolute Vochtigheid Sensor, Gratis Data Opslag Export, 2 Jaar Levensduur Batterij

Is perhaps an option. Not sure about real distance capabilities.

And don’t worry, I will check very carefull, before I step again into something unwanted. Homey is not as versatile and the all in one as advertised. So check, recheck and check compatibility with other products as well…, I am aware of that.

When I did a google search for the IBS-TH2 sensor, I also got an Inkbird with LCD display, so I had only searched for sensors with a display. I had not compared the technical data.

It would have been helpful if you had added a link and/or the minimum technical requirements.
Also if you want to use a specific wireless protocol or if it’s a problem for you if the sensor only works with an additional hub.
That’s about the same thing you’re accusing Athom of… :man_shrugging:t3:
Please don’t misunderstand, this is not meant in a bad way, but the more information you provide, the easier it is to help you.

I read several times that if you connect the sensor to a SwitchBot Hub, the range is significantly greater than if you connect the sensor directly to Homey. And since the hub is connected via WiFi, you can also place the hub close to the sensor. Which is not easily possible with the Homey.

Another sensor:

BleBox humiditySensor (-40 to + 125 °C, WiFi, needs 5 V power supply)

Next time I will provide more details. I go and check BleBox.

About additional hubs, Homey should be the one for all. Due to that fact it is highly recommended to, for example, have one nice Zigbee network.

It seems several Zigbee networks in the same area should be possible as well. But the big benefit of Homey is that you should have only 1 single hub, possible with a additional bridge for bigger range, but thats it.

But is seems that every single person has it one idea and vision about this. So there will be never an 1 for all solution, I think and expect.

Bringing the number of hubs down as much as possible, I think is a good strategie. This reduce power consumtion and should increase stability and overall range imo.

And as a new user to Homey, I am a bit scepticle after some things that do not work as aspected, while the “advertisement” is creating a different point of view.

So, in the end, I will find something usefull for my situation. Today no final decission made yet.

I don’t want to defend Athom, I’m not employed by Athom or have any advantages from being a moderator, but isn’t that the case with every advertisement, every product?

In general it’s really easy. For every single device incl. the internal model resp. device ID must be a dedicated app available.
Exceptions:
– Zigbee lights
– Zigbee plugs/outlets (energy measurement is also supported)
– Z-Wave plugs/outlets (energy measurement is also supported)
– Matter/Thread devices acc. the implemented Matter version (current v1.2)
– Not officially supported, but can still work: Simple single switches (Zigbee/Z-Wave), door/window sensors without additional functions (Zigbee/Z-Wave)
